Besides being an Architect, Chandni is also a Professional Dancer. She has performed on many big platforms at the national and state levels.

Chandni Tandon is an Architect and a Partner at Aether Studio, Udaipur. She has also been working as a Faculty of Interior Designing at VCD College of Design in Udaipur for the last two years.

Chandni belongs to Udaipur. She studied Bachelor of Architecture from RTU, Kota. She did her six-months training from Mumbai. Soon, she kicked off her career in collaboration with promising architects of Udaipur. She also stepped into the teaching profession at VCD College. In the meantime, she progressed in her Architecture field and set up her own firm in partnership as ‘Aether Studio.’

Describing her struggles, Chandni says that making a career in the field of Art is a bit difficult for people to adapt. The same thing happened to her as well. She faced many hardships while working in the market because people lacked understanding of her work profile. She also continued to be a victim of gender stereotyping as people used to show less confidence in her work.

Talking about her achievements, Chandni says that she was awarded as a ‘Merit-Holder’ by RTU for securing 10th position all over Rajasthan upon completion of her B.Arch. In terms of her profession, at the very beginning of her career, she got a big residential project, which is an achievement in itself. Also, being a Dancer, she has won several state level trophies and national level certificates and awards in it.

About her Covid experience, Chandni says that her career had just started and then Covid struck in the country and ruined it all. She had some projects in hand but could not execute them because of the lockdown situation. It was a challenging time for her.

According to Chandni, Leadership is different from dictatorship. She believes in taking the whole team along and working with them. She believes that she has inculcated leadership qualities in herself from her upbringing and education. She considers herself a good leader.

Chandni opines that everything in life has a right time within which things should be done. So in her view, Education has its own place and an important role to play in everybody’s life. Further she says that education takes you to a certain path to gain experience in a particular field. So, a basic education is important for moving forward in life unless you have a family business to run and don’t need any formal qualification.

In her spare time, Chandni enjoys dancing, singing, reading, traveling and walking around.

Advising the young generation, Chandni tells them to choose their career in whatever field they are good at. She says that in the initial phase, you might not be able to earn anything in the pursuit of following your passion, but eventually you will excel in it.
