They aim to offer end-to-end solutions to small companies, including project financing and fundraising services for startups. Additionally, they assist in making business plans that align with the vision of existing businesses, helping to translate vision into actionable strategies.
Ankit completed his CA in 2011 and CS in 2012 and embarked on his career in the corporate sector thereafter. Over the past 12 years, he has contributed his expertise to various renowned corporations such as Secure Meters, L&T India, Indus Towers, and Kirloskar Group. In 2019, he started his own practice while also working in a corporate position. By August 2023, he transitioned to full-time practice, joining his wife, who is also a CA and had been running her independent practice.
Originally from Udaipur, Ankit attended Central Academy Sardarpura for his schooling. Remarkably, he passed both his CA and CS exams on his first attempt. His career journey began as an executive at Secure Meters, eventually rising to the role of Finance Head and Circle CFO at Indus Towers, where he oversaw a turnover of 1200 crore. Subsequently, he ventured into independent practice and has been receiving positive feedback for his services. Additionally, he contributes as a faculty member at ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).
As a Rotarian, Ankit describes Rotary Means Business (RMB) as a platform within Rotary where members can support the success of their fellow Rotarians by engaging in business with them and referring others to their businesses. This initiative facilitates business growth and deal-making opportunities. Over the past eighteen months, the group has facilitated business totaling 23 crore among the members. RMB serves as an excellent networking platform, and he encourages others to join to expand their businesses and connect with like-minded entrepreneurs. Currently comprising 50 members, the group is steadily expanding. In addition to their business focus, members collaborate on social initiatives and have the option to participate in other Rotary clubs.
Ankit reveals that the idea of launching his own company had always lingered in his mind, but circumstances led him to initially pursue a job. This job spanned 12 years, during which he realized the lack of freedom over his time. Despite the allure of a good package, the grueling 16-hour workdays prompted him to reclaim his time and pursue entrepreneurship. He yearned to become self-made and attain the freedom he craved. Finally, in 2019, he mustered the courage to commence his own practice, and by 2023, he bid farewell to his corporate job. Since embarking on this entrepreneurial journey, he has acknowledged experiencing genuine happiness in his life.
Recalling his childhood, Ankit says that he was born in Sirohi, where his father was employed at the time. After spending six to seven years in Sirohi, his family relocated to Udaipur due to his father's transfer. He attended Sunbeam School for his primary education and later joined Central Academy for his further studies. During his schooling, he forged strong friendships that endure to this day, cherishing the memories of his school days and childhood.
Interestingly, he disliked science, so he decided in the 9th grade to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant, a dream shared by his father, who aspired to become a CA but could not qualify. Ankit's father harbored the same dream for him.
Ankit went on to complete his graduation from MB College, Udaipur, and proceeded on his CA journey, undergoing training at firms in Udaipur. Following his training, he successfully cleared the CA exams and commenced his professional career.
When asked about his role models, Ankit says he draws inspiration from self-made individuals such as PM Narendra Modi, Steve Jobs, MS Dhoni, and Shahrukh Khan. A particular quote that resonates deeply with him is, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” This mantra drives him to embrace life to its fullest and pursue continuous learning to stay updated every day.
When met with criticism for leaving his high-paying job to start his own firm, he found solace in the quote, "Success comes to those who build foundations with the bricks thrown at them," and in the notion that "nothing is impossible; the word itself says 'I'm possible.'
Reflecting on his struggles, Ankit recalls the demanding schedule he maintained while studying for CA: waking up at 6 a.m. for classes, then attending the office from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for training, followed by nighttime study sessions. He has devoted 12 to 14 hours daily to work since he completed the 12th standard.
Acknowledging that everyone faces struggles, Ankit recalls the pressure to pass CA on his first attempt. Despite facing peer pressure, he attributes his success in clearing the CA exam on his first attempt to discipline and effective planning. During his job, he initially faced challenges with a lower salary but remained resilient. He believes that, while struggles are inevitable, they should not deter one from striving for success. Instead, facing challenges with patience, perseverance, and never losing hope is the key.
Transitioning from a shy individual to confidently presenting business plans worth billions to company CEOs marks a significant achievement for Ankit. His diverse work experiences have bolstered his confidence, evident in his ability to confidently pitch ideas to entrepreneurs and clients.
Offering advice to the youth of the country, Ankit cautions against being overly aggressive and seeking quick success. Instead, he advocates for patience and maintaining composure in every situation, emphasizing that success comes with patience and being calm in every situation. He recommends that everyone acquaint themselves with basic financial and investment terms through YouTube or any other medium.
Addressing young entrepreneurs, Ankit recounts his personal journey from earning 4 lakhs annually in a job to eventually earning 35 lakhs annually. Despite this success, he chose to pursue entrepreneurship. Inspiring budding entrepreneurs, he offers reassurance that once they start their entrepreneurial journey, everything will fall into place, encouraging them to take the leap and begin their entrepreneurial endeavors.
