Bhuvnesh Gupta, a dedicated social worker, found his motivation when his mother urgently needed blood during an operation. Since then, he has been inspiring various groups, including college students and COVID-19 survivors, to contribute to the noble cause of voluntary blood donation. His enduring mission is to promote and encourage this selfless act.

Bhuvnesh Gupta hails from Kota, Rajasthan. He is a social worker and regularly organizes blood donation camps. He also runs a computer training institution.

Sharing about his journey, Bhuvnesh says that when he was pursuing a BSc, his mother was suffering from a serious ailment and needed to be immediately operated on. Bhuvnesh was too young at that time to understand what her mother was going through. Everything that was required for the operation was arranged except for two units of blood.

His father came up to him and told him that his mother needed two units of blood. Bhuvnesh was very passionate at that time, and he wanted to do something for his mother. The next day, when he went to his tuition class, he was a bit tense, so his teacher asked him what was wrong with him that day, and he expressed it all. That’s when his teacher motivated him and all his fellow students to do something for the social cause. His teacher told them that blood donation is a very simple process and has no health consequences if you are over eighteen. So not only Bhuvnesh but also his fellow students agreed to donate blood. They all went to a blood bank and donated blood. Since then, Bhuvnesh has been donating blood and organizing blood donation camps on a regular basis.

Talking about his achievement, Bhuvnesh says he is possibly the first person in India to donate SDP 52 times and blood 101 times. He has provided blood to 4.5 lakh people, which is a huge achievement for him. He was also felicitated by the Vice President and the Rajasthan government for his noble initiative.

Bhuvnesh says that during COVID, he was able to provide blood to the needy through his team. He was even able to motivate COVID-recovered people to donate plasma. He was able to provide blood to the needy not just in Kota but also in other cities like Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, etc.

When asked about his role model, Bhuvnesh says he draws inspiration from his family. He says that his family has always inspired and supported him in his noble work. He is on a lifelong mission to make people donate blood voluntarily.

Bhuvnesh also actively organizes rallies and travels to the rural areas of the city to motivate people to donate blood and debunk myths associated with it.

On a personal level, Bhuvnesh motivates his college students to donate blood. He also organizes blood donation camps in his father’s memory on his death anniversary.
