From facing the constraints of a patriarchal society to founding an influential NGO, Bhavna has transformed her own life and the lives of many others. Her work has empowered hundreds of women, making them self-reliant, and has provided affordable housing solutions for the economically weaker sections.

Bhavna Pradhan hails from Hisar, Haryana, where she was born and raised. Her journey is a testament to perseverance, hard work, and the relentless pursuit of making a difference in society.

Bhavna completed her schooling in Hisar and went on to pursue her bachelor and master degrees at Kurukshetra University. Throughout her academic career, Bhavna was not only a meritorious student but also displayed a keen interest in singing, showcasing her multifaceted talents.

Growing up in a patriarchal society, Bhavna faced significant challenges. Women in her community had limited access to resources and rights, and Bhavna experienced these limitations firsthand. Despite these societal constraints, she remained focused on her education and personal growth. However, her journey took a new direction upon completing her education when she got married and moved to Rajasthan in 2005.

After moving to Rajasthan, Bhavna found herself in a supportive environment where her in-laws recognized her potential and encouraged her to channel her abilities towards meaningful endeavours. Her husband played a crucial role in motivating her to join an NGO, where she initially worked as a volunteer. This experience ignited her passion for social work, and in 2008, she and her husband decided to establish their own NGO, Saaransh.

Starting and running an NGO came with its own set of challenges. Bhavna had to learn the ropes of managing an NGO, from securing projects and funding to balancing her responsibilities at home and work. Despite these hurdles, Bhavna's determination and the unwavering support of her husband and in-laws helped her navigate these challenges successfully.

Under the aegis of Saaransh, Bhavna has undertaken numerous commendable projects, particularly focusing on the empowerment of women. She has up-skilled hundreds of women, enabling them to become self-employed and financially independent. One of her notable initiatives includes an affordable housing program aimed at the economically weaker sections, providing them with loans at affordable rates. Her efforts in these areas have not only uplifted the lives of many but have also earned her recognition from various quarters, including the Jila Udyog Kendra.

Bhavna attributes much of her success to the constant encouragement from her father, who always emphasised the importance of education and striving for excellence. Her husband's support has also been a pillar of strength throughout her journey.

In her personal time, Bhavna enjoys reading books on Buddhism and follows its philosophy to guide her life's direction and purpose.

Reflecting on her journey, Bhavna acknowledges the leadership qualities that have helped her lead various projects to successful completion.

She believes that struggles are an inevitable part of life, but with dedication and a supportive network, one can overcome any obstacle. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact of perseverance, hard work, and the importance of having a support system.
