Driven by her passion, Bharti has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a doctor. She has been serving as a Gynecologist in a tribal area in Gujarat for the last forty years and is uplifting the lives of people there.

Dr. Bharti Patel is a Gynecologist in Vyara, Gujarat. She runs her own clinic under the name ‘Ashirwad Hospital’ and has been practicing in this field for the last forty years.

Bharti was born and raised in Valsad. She had made up her mind to become a doctor as soon as she completed her schooling. She says, there was no one to guide her because no one in her family had ever stepped into this profession. Still, she did her MBBS.

Speaking of her role models, Bharti says her father is her biggest role model because, despite the then-prevailing conservative thinking of her community, her father encouraged her to study further even though she was a girl and made every possible effort to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor. After her marriage, her husband became her inspiration as he pushed her to study further and move ahead in life, which allowed her to become an eminent Gynecologist.

Describing her struggles, Bharti says that the first eight years of her professional life were very difficult for her because Vyara was a backward village lacking basic facilities for a normal livelihood. She says that pregnant women there did not receive routine checkups and instead, visited the clinic only when they were in labor, making it difficult for her to manage such complex cases.

When free, Bharti enjoys singing and practicing classical music.

Bharti urges all women to get regular checkups done, and if they experience any problems, she advises them to acquire authentic information about them and to consult a doctor rather than look for remedies online.

Bharti advises everyone that no matter how high you may rise in life, always act in accordance with your moral principles and never lose sight of your origins. She adds that your mental and physical development will increase the more grounded you are and the more positive energy you radiate.
