Bharat Khatri is from Jaipur and is a Tattoo Artist. He is the owner of ‘Tattoo Nasha’. He has done his schooling from LBS Public School, Jaipur.
Bharat says that he was always motivated about being a Tattoo artist from a very early age. In 2005, he made his own Tattoo machine and in 2009, he started his first Tattoo studio in Jaipur. In 2012, he started working as a professional in this field. In 2017, he won four awards in different categories in Punjab Tattoo Expo.
Bharat also tells us that he is the first man in India to have his tongue bifurcated like that of a snake. He is often referred to as the Snake Man by many.
Bharat says that he has not taken any formal training about making Tattoos from any institute. He has learned everything from watching YouTube videos and working in the field. He says that practice has made him perfect over the years.
Bharat says that initially, his parents were not in favor of him joining this industry. They wanted him to go into a conventional career or get a government job. However, Bharat kept on insisting and creating awareness about this field in their minds. His persistent attitude finally brought his parents on board.
Bharat informs that the Covid pandemic did not affect his profession very much as it did with other professions. He says that he is doing well even now and his business is booming.
Breaking the myths around Tattoos and their side effects, Bharat says that if one chooses a reputed Tattoo Studio, one will not see any side effects like skin diseases or cancer. He says that local artists doing it without taking any precautions can cause a problem.
Bharat advises the youngsters to join this field as it has much scope. He says that their work span is about five hours a day and they also earn well. He says that there are many studios and academies offering courses in this field.
Bharat shares that he used to watch television series like ‘Miami Ink’ and ‘Tattoo Nightmares’ to get inspiration. He adds that Tattoo artists like Kat Von D are his motivators and he follows them to learn more.
Bharat feels that success is dependent on the amount of work you put in. He says that his eight studios didn’t do well but it never disappointed him and he kept trying. He advises everyone to never lose hope and just keep moving in life.
In his free time, Bharat likes to sketch and improvise on his art.
