Leaving his field of education and pursuing what he loves is what Bhanu Pratap  did. Shifting from being an engineer to a wildlife photographer, Bhanu is pursuing a career that satisfies him completely.

Bhanu Pratap Singh Rathore is a freelance wildlife photographer from Udaipur.

Bhanu did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya and B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Pacific College of Engineering.

After that, he started working in the solar energy sector but did not enjoy much in that field and could not get the required satisfaction.

Bhanu says that from childhood he was interested in wildlife and used to watch Discovery and National Geographic channels. Soon, to pursue his passion, he started researching wildlife. He used to read research papers related to it and says that the work of Kevin Richardson inspired him a lot.

Bhanu shares that his success mantra in life is believing in the thought that “this too shall pass” and living in the present.

Bhanu advises those who want to come into this field to have patience as it is a time taking field. Initially, you will have to learn a lot about camera handling and technical stuff. Also, a thorough knowledge of animals and their habits and behavior has to be learned. Also, he suggests having a backup before jumping right into it.

If given a Time Machine, Bhanu would like to relive his childhood days which were carefree and enjoyable.

Bhanu also advises people not to keep animals like parrots and tortoises as pets because it is illegal to do so and punishable by law.

In his free time, Bhanu likes to spend time with his family. He also likes cooking and music.
