A poet, writer, and educator, Bhagwati believes that it is important not to act in haste and that one should think twice before taking any decision. He believes that it is important to make friends who will keep you away from negativity.

Bhagwati Prasad Gautam is a member of the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Bal Sahitya Akademi, Kota.

Bhagwati belongs to the small village of Mokhampura, Baran. He completed an MA in Drawing and Painting but could teach both Hindi and English. He worked in the field of education and retired from the post of ADO.

Recalling his childhood, Bhagwati says that he spent his childhood in his village, and then he came to Kota for his studies. He enjoyed his childhood thoroughly by playing in the fields. His uncle supported him a lot and inspired him to get a proper education.

Talking about his journey, Bhagwati says that when he was in seventh grade, he saw his elder brother and his uncle read books, and then his brother started writing. So he was also inspired to write, and having his first poem published in a newspaper gave him greater confidence to write other things.

Accepting his mistakes, Bhagwati says that when he was giving his exam in drawing and painting, he missed reading the question carefully as he was in a hurry. So he had to reappear in the supplementary paper because of this mistake. He learned that it is important not to make decisions in haste.

Bhagwati's role models are his parents, uncle, and elder brother, who gave him the right direction to live his life. He also admires his teacher, Ratnakar Vinayak Sakhalkar, who trusted him a lot.

Sharing his achievements, Bhagwati claims that he was the first person to be awarded the ‘Bal Sahitya Puraskar’.

Advising the young generation, Bhagwati says that "One who dares to teach should never cease to learn.' He says to enter this field, one should have the habit of reading, and it is also important to have proper knowledge about the subject you teach. Practise and learning are the most important things in this field.
