Bhagwati Lal Babel is from Udaipur. He works as a physical training teacher in the Government Secondary School in Sethwada. He has been there for the last 25 years.
Bhagwati Lal has done B.Com., M.A. in English and also B.P. Ed. After graduation he worked at the Chanderiya plant of Hindustan Zinc Ltd under a contractor for two years. It was mostly fabrication and erection work which he looked after.
Then he joined the palace of Maharana Arvind Singh ji Mewar where he worked as the cashier of their 21 trusts under the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation. He gained a lot of experience in that job. It was quite a task maintaining the cash-books and ledgers of all the 21 trusts of the palace but he managed the task single-handedly with his dedication and hard work. He learnt how to make relations and how to interact with foreigners. For his work he was felicitated by the Maharana in an award function. He feels proud of the fact that he was the one who was entrusted with the task of opening the ‘gullak’ of the three temples managed by the trust- the Amba Mata Temple, the Eklingji Temple and the Asawara Mata Temple in Chittorgarh. He was the one who opened the ‘gullaks’, took out all the money, closed and sealed them with his signature.
Later, when he passed his B.P.Ed., he got a government job in the school situated in his native village Dungla, where has been for the last 25 years.
Bhagwati Lal considers his father as his motivator in life. He says that his father always supported him and whenever he was disappointed in life his father encouraged him.
As Bhagwati Lal is good in English he runs his Babel Coaching institute in his native village Dungla where he teaches English to 10th and 12th class students. About 150 students come to his institute every year.
Bhagwati Lal’s advice to youngsters is that they must have faith in their hard work and believe in the saying ‘Work is Worship’.
