Balveer Singh Rathore is the Managing Director at First Impression Heritage Salon & Academy.
Born and raised in Pali district, Balveer resides in Udaipur. He did his schooling from his native place. He then moved to Jaipur to live with his grandparents and pursued his B.Sc from there. Recalling his childhood, Balveer says that he spent a major part of his childhood at his maternal place and grew up playing with his cousins.
Balveer says that he wanted to prove himself to his family and thus began working a six hour job at a hospital while studying in Jaipur. That period, he says, was quite challenging in his life as he was working while also pursuing a regular degree course. He had taken admission into an evening college to be able to work and had to travel a lot due to his job and college.
Balveer worked at the hospital for about 14 years from 1998 to 2012 making amicable relations there. And in the meantime, he kept studying and did BDM as well. Along with working in the hospital, he also took up one more job at another hospital. He says that the manager of the hospital was very supportive of him and taught him many things.
While working at the hospital, Balveer rediscovered his knack for sports, and his leadership ability as he got many opportunities to organise various functions at the hospitals. He says that once he caught the eye of a popular bollywood producer while acting in a play that his hospital had organised. The producer advised him to join the film industry which stuck in his mind.
After Some time, Balveer auditioned for a part in an ad campaign of UNICEF on World Education. He got selected for the lead role and got his first exposure to the acting field. He gradually began getting acting offers for various ads and modelling too. Eventually, he cracked his way into local cinema and did his first movie Hukum, for which he was awarded by the Rajasthan Government as well. Then he acted in several local movies and is still doing them.
Balveer moved to Mumbai to make headway in his acting career. After a while, he got a role on the silver screen and worked in it for a year and a half. Gradually, he got interested in the hairstyling and makeup industry due to his association with show business. Thus he entered into the salon business as well.
Talking about his role models, Balveer says that while working in the hospital he met Ram Singh who guided him during his initial career days. He says that later on, he made acquaintances with many of the senior people in his professional life who became his role models.
Advising aspiring filmmakers, Balveer says that you should enter into the field early on in life and should not marry until you have a stable career. He further says that luck is also a huge factor that decides your success in the film industry. To the people who want to make a career in the salon industry, Balveer says that you should be passionate and determined about it. He continues to say that you must keep yourself updated with the latest trends if you want to sustain in this industry.
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Balveer says that both have their own importance in life, as education generates new ideas in your brain and good epixneece helps you implement them perfectly.
Given a chance to go back to his past with a time machine, Balveer would like to relive his life as it is without changing any bit about it, as he says that he loves his work.
Sharing his COVID experience, Balveer says that he lost many of his friends during the pandemic. Having worked in the medical field, he says that he tried his best to assist his friends but he couldn’t help them all which saddens him. He says that the pandemic made people switch to the digital mode of lifestyle which is good for the nation. He personally also used the internet to learn newer techniques of makeup and hairstyling.
Balveer spends his free time exercising and tending to his plants. He says that tending to plants soothes him.
On a final note, Balveer says that men should also take care of their appearance and styling as women do, as they need it more.
