Babita Sharma has been working in the field of journalism for 25 years. She is also the Vice President of the Journalist Association of Rajasthan (JAR). She also works for an NGO to support people.
Babita was born and brought up in Jaipur. She did her schooling at Rajendra Bal Mandir, a Hindi medium school, and completed her college education at Maharani College affiliated with Jaipur University. She is an M.A. in Journalism. She has also done a B.Ed. course because her father wanted her to be a teacher. She was fond of writing articles, says Babita.
Recalling her childhood memories, Babita says that during her childhood, providing education to girls and letting them live freely was very difficult. But her father brought her up without any discrimination. She used to play cricket and other sports. During her school days, she always tried to do something different, says Babita.
Talking about the journey of her life, Babita says that she joined a private school as a teacher. But she was not satisfied and so she left the job.
Continuing about her journey, Babita shares that once she wrote an article and sent it to Rajasthan Patrika, a daily newspaper. She received hundreds of appreciation letters for it. Inspired by this, she started writing articles on different topics and thus entered this field.
Sharing about struggles in her life, Babita says that journalism was not an easy job for females when she joined it. She was unable to give time to her children which was her biggest struggle. But she continued to build her career and now she is successfully doing her job, says Babita.
Talking about achievements in her life, Babita says that she became the Director of the Press Club Jaipur four times. She also became Vice President of the same club. She has received many awards in this field.
When asked about role models in her life, Babita says that her father is her role model who taught her to be brave in every situation and work with full determination. Her second role model is Veer Saxena, a famous journalist. He taught her to ignore what people say about her and concentrate on her work.
Babita’s success mantra is determination and completing work on time.
In her free time, Babita goes for long drives and likes to have a highway dinner. Yoga is her favorite pastime, says Babita.
Sharing about her Covid experience, Babita says that she lost her father during the first wave of Corona. She spent time with her family and helped society during the pandemic.
Advising the youth, Babita says that they should not quit work in between. Also, they should be honest in their work and not leave it till it gets completed.
To one and all, Babita advises living their life to the fullest. We should never keep any space for repenting for any missed chance in our life. Also, Babita suggests that we should always be brave in our life.
