B.L. Meghwal epitomizes how hard work and determination can help you achieve great success in life. He was a brilliant student since his childhood and now, he is a zealous doctor and an educationist.

B.L. Meghwal hails from a small village in Jhalawar. He did his entire primary and secondary education from his village. His entire village was agriculture oriented and he had to carve his way through, to become a doctor.

B.L. Meghwal was very intelligent in his school days. He was the topper of his school and his teachers suggested him to opt for science-biology as his subject in his senior secondary. Initially, he never thought that he would ever become a doctor because he never saw any other person from his village doing so. While pursuing his secondary education, he joined an English learning institute to stay ahead of his competition and hone his English skills. The very second day of his coaching, he raised a doubt which urged his teacher to ask him his qualifications. He was very nervous at first but to his surprise, his teacher told him to become a doctor because he was capable enough. Before that, he never considered becoming a doctor as an option but he was very motivated by the words of his teacher, and owing to those words, B.L. Meghwal cleared his PMT in his first attempt and joined SMS Medical College, Jaipur to pursue his M.B.B.S.

After his graduation, B.L. Meghwal was motivated by his friends to become an IAS officer as he was very sharp in studies as well as co-curriculars. He appeared patiently for the examinations to become an IAS officer three times and was finally appointed as a Medical Officer in the State Services of the government but due to lack of patience, he did not take up the position and opted to do a job. He also pursued his M.D. while providing his services in a job. He gradually started feeling that his knowledge was far more than his present stature and he is not able to use it at its full potential. So, he decided to turn towards the medical educational sector and appeared for it’s examination. He cleared all the exams and today, he is content with his position as an assistant professor in the department of Pediatrics at Rabindranath Tagore Medical College, Udaipur. Along with being a professor, he also holds multiple accreditations to his name, after an esteemed service of more than fifteen years in the medical sector.

During the pandemic, B.L. Meghwal was handed over responsibilities to form a rapid response team and go to Bhilwara where the first cases of Covid-19 were suspected. When he reached Bhilwara, his entire team was in a state of panic seeing the circumstances at the hospital where they were sent to collect samples. B.L. Meghwal bravely collected his team and gave them a piece of motivational advice. He told them that there is always a day in everyone’s life where they get a chance to do something good for humanity, and this was that day. His entire team worked day and night to stop the spread of the virus by collecting samples, sanitizing the facilities and tracing the history of the patients that were infected. His plans were completely supported by the administration and the collectorate office. The term ‘ruthless containment’ given by B.L. Meghwal was then used as a protocol and many further research studies and papers were published along with one of his own on how to contain the coronavirus.

Dr. B.L. Meghwal believes there are four key values that a person should inculcate in order to achieve success. The first is to have a mentor in life who guides them to the correct direction in life. The second is to have an aim in life. A goal which has to be reached. The third is to have faith in the journey, as a loss of faith can delay success. And that last but not the least is to work hard and take a massive action to achieve everything you desire.
