Ayush’s artistic and creative abilities landed him in the world of natural stones which offer beautiful wall claddings and durable wall decors.

Ayush Mandot is a manufacturer and exporter dealing in natural stone wall claddings to decorate one’s interior and exterior landscapes using innovative techniques and meticulous use of machines and skilled labour. Ayush, who always wanted to do something creative since childhood, started his business in 2012, an idea which he came across through his father’s friend. He also contributed to his family business of real estate and building construction for a year. Ayush completed his graduation from Pune and went to London to pursue his MBA in Finance.

When Ayush initially came up with the innovative idea, he found it a bit challenging to introduce something this unique in the market for people to accept and understand, especially the architects who were used to the traditional designs. However, he showcased his business idea through exhibitions, particularly the Acetech exhibition that helped him get an overwhelming response and this is when his actual journey started.

He shares that generally there are no showrooms displaying stones and wall claddings so he thought of creating a new experience wherein the architects could come and educate their clients. With a network of around fifty dealers pan India, Ayush’s export house caters needs of the American, European, Dubai and UAE markets. He also has an exclusive manufacturing facility in Udaipur displaying innovative wall claddings which are different from what was offered in the past.

Discussing COVID, Ayush shares that he got time to upgrade his factory and infrastructure since there were no orders during the pandemic. He also got to spend a good time with his family and understand life better.

Ayush has no role model in particular but he takes inspiration from people he meets along the way and tries to incorporate the good qualities he sees in them.

Ayush feels that basic education is a must for everyone since it teaches us the values we cannot get from anywhere else. Likewise, he believes that having experience helps one in the long run. He concludes that a combination of both education and experience fetches great results.

Ayush feels that in life one needs to be both consistent and persistent since things take time in showing up. He says that if you have opted for something and in the process feel like giving up, that is when you should hold yourself and remember why you wanted it in the first place. He continues that one should give oneself another chance to justify the time invested and be patient to get the desired results.

Ayush thinks that he is not a born leader but working with a team has instilled leadership qualities in him since he gets to guide them through obstacles and look for ways to overcome them. He feels communication plays a crucial role in leadership and a good leader should work for everyone’s development.

If Ayush could go back in a time machine, he would straight away pursue a degree in the creative field to develop his artistic skills rather than pursuing his MBA. He feels that having a genuine interest in whatever you do is important to sustain in the long run.

Ayush is inspired by the Mercedes Benz slogan which goes like “The best or nothing.” He believes that one should give their best shot or it will turn out to be a waste of time.
