Ayush was born and brought up in Udaipur. He studied at St. Gregorios School. He did his B.Tech. from Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur and did his MBA from ITM University, Mumbai.
After completing his B.Tech, Ayush worked with IBM for two years and then did his MBA. Post his MBA, he worked with Indusind Bank in Baroda as a Trade and Forex Manager.
Since his school days, Ayush wanted to do something of his own and with that aim in his mind, he left his corporate job and embarked on his entrepreneurial journey. He came back to Udaipur and started Gurukripa Agro Solutions with an aim to create something for small and marginal farmers in the machinery field.
Ayush highlights that nowadays everyone is championing to go organic when it comes to buying farm products, but none is telling how to go organic. He says that when insects attack crops, farmers have no option but to spray insecticides to save their crops which in turn affects the quality of the farm produce. So to provide an alternative solution to combat insects, he at Gurukripa Agro Solutions, invented Solar Insect Killer machines.
Talking about childhood, Ayush shares that he spent his childhood in Udaipur and most of his childhood memories are of visiting lakes in the city and roaming around the places.
Talking about the challenges he faced in starting his venture, Ayush says that they had the technology but to scale it up was a challenge as there was no support from the then government. But after the change of government and subsequent reforms in the agriculture sector, he started getting financial aid from both the central and state governments.
Ayush says that after his engineering when he was working with an IT company he realised that coding and writing computer programmes were not his forte. So he thought of doing an MBA and after his MBA when he was working in the Trade and Forex, he found it hard to learn the ropes of his job as he was a neophyte and had no prior experience of working in the field but with the help and support of his seniors he picked it up soon.
Ayush says that the Covid pandemic was a very tough time for him professionally as Rabi crops are harvested in the month of March and that’s when the pandemic hit us. And owing to the subsequent lockdown in light of the pandemic, he could not supply his machines and other farm equipment to farmers and farmers had to bear high operation costs.
To aspiring entrepreneurs, Ayush says that the agriculture sector is a growing sector and there is a lot to explore and tap into this sector and the government is also helping financially to anyone who wants to do something of their own in this sector so this is the right time to delve into it. Besides, he advises that if you do something in the agriculture sector do it with an aim to bring innovation to the sector and not just work for any materialistic gains.
Ayush has an interest in Astrophysics and he likes to read about stars, planets and celestial bodies.
Ayush thinks that education and experience are important but what’s more important is your motivation to do things. He says that experience you gain by working and with time only.
Ayush considers Elon Musk as his role model and emulates his futuristic and innovative approach toward his work. Besides, he considers his parents as his biggest inspiration who always supported him in all his endeavours.
If he could go back in time then Ayush would want to do his graduation in Agriculture rather than engineering as it would have helped him better in his business.
Ayush doesn’t think that he is a leader. But he knows how to get things done and this is what taught him leadership with time.
In his free time, Ayush likes to listen to songs from across genres based on his mood.
