A talented professional musician, Atharva has gained fame and name from his proudest achievement, his first Gujarati movie, ‘Raghu CNG”.

Atharva Sanjay Joshi is a professional musician and tabla artist. He hails from Bhavnagar and presently lives in Ahmedabad.

Sharing about his journey, Atharva says that since his childhood he has been interested in music and started learning to play the tabla. But when he decided to choose playing the tabla as his career, his father opposed his decision. His father was very concerned about his future and the scope of his growth in this field. But when he watched the movie, his father finally got convinced. When he looks back on his journey, Atharva feels proud and happy about it.

Referring to his struggles and mistakes, Atharva says that when he wanted to pursue the music field as his career, his family was against his decision. So, he just became rebellious and went away to pursue his field. He thinks instead of becoming a rebel, he should have somehow convinced his family. But he is happy he struggled on his own, made his identity, and didn’t put his family down. He also thinks he used to sometimes compare himself with others and underestimate himself, which was a mistake.

During the COVID period, Atharva and his friends used to go to a café where they performed for people. Gradually, it became so popular among the people that now he does open concerts with his music group. This is a special achievement of his that is very close to his heart, which he calls his lockdown baby.

When asked about his role models, Atharva says he considers A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer as his role models in music. He also likes music bands like “Queen.”

In his low times, Atharva’s escape is music, and this is the only thing that gives him peace.

Atharva’s proudest achievement was his first Gujarati movie, ‘Raghu CNG”. Once, he went with his friend to a film audition, and there he met the director of ‘Raghu CNG”, Vishal. After two days, he got a call from the director, Vishal, and was offered a chance to provide the background music. Before that, he was doing only small budget projects, and the film was his first breakthrough.

Atharva’s life mantra is to keep developing his music and writing his music notes. He tries to convert all his emotions into music and rejuvenate himself.

Atharva says music is only his passion and hobby, other than this, he can’t think about anything else.

He remembers one of the incidents that happened during one of the movies' shootings, when his crew’s bus was returning from the Kutch area of Gujarat, when it was robbed. He says the experience was horrible because there were women and kids on the bus. But he says  shooting in remote places is always an interesting experience.

Atharva’s advice for the young generation who wants to pursue their careers in the field of music is that they must use the internet's resources to learn, develop, and promote their music through various online platforms instead of copying others’ work.
