A dedicated banker, Asim has faced challenges but achieved many accomplishments and believes in working hard and following one's own path. He opened the maximum savings accounts in UP and achieved the highest recovery target in Ahmedabad.

Asim Wilson John is a Premises Manager at the Indian Bank in Udaipur.

Asim says that he began appearing in BSRB examinations in Patna, Banaras, Delhi and Jaipur after finishing his schooling since he had always desired to work as a banker. He was chosen for the Jaipur interview after passing every competitive exam. He posted in a village after acing the interview. He met a boss there who always gave him motivation to keep going. He has spent the last 30 years working in the financial industry.

Asim’s birthplace is Bihar. He finished his schooling in Bihar's Gaya district. Following graduation, he began studying for government examinations and secured employment with the Allahabad Bank, which subsequently amalgamated with Indian Bank.

Sharing his accomplishments, Asim states that he opened the highest number of savings accounts in UP and received an appreciation letter and consolation reward. He was proud of his team for working hard to reach the highest recovery target of 300 crores when he was assigned to the recovery department at the zonal office in Ahmedabad.

Reflecting on his early years, Asim recalls they were filled with a lot of excitement and curiosity. He remembers a number of experiences from his early years and continues to treasure them.

Asim believes that each individual has a certain trait and personality that no one else can duplicate, when asked about his role models. He has never been one to subscribe to the idea of following others, despite his admiration for APJ Abdul Kalam's path and character.

Speaking about his challenges, Asim states that he has had several issues in his career, including working with other team members and living up to expectations from superiors. He put up a lot of effort every day to accomplish his objectives and complete the tasks assigned to him.

Asim gives the next generation advice on how to work hard and have faith in oneself. He exhorts everyone to live by the maxim "Live and let others live."

He finds a lot of inspiration and motivation in the song "Jeena isi ka naam hai."

Asim acknowledges his mistakes and explains that his team worked till midnight during the Demonetisation phase because he was first unable to manage the workload. He apologised for his mistakes and made an effort to simplify the work, ultimately succeeding in the goal of efficient staff performance.

When comparing education with experience, he says that education opens the door to a career or field in life. You gain experience from your profession that helps you grow in life.

Asim enjoys listening to vintage Bollywood cinema songs in his free time. In addition, he enjoys travelling and hiking in the mountains.

He discloses that he was consistently rendering his services to clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that one benefit of the epidemic was that families were able to spend more time together and fortified their relationships. However, a great number of individuals lost loved ones in the pandemic.

Asim would like to spend more time with his old pals and relive his childhood if he could travel back in time via time travel.
