Ashok travelled around the world from a very young age and got his education at different places. Currently, he is an entrepreneur, dealing in innovative technologies around the globe.

Ashok Shukla lives in Noida. He is an entrepreneur, doing a good business in innovative technologies for the last fifteen years. He has filed several patents in the US and Europe that have been awarded and a couple of those patents have been commercialised in India. His first firm was named SPA Associates and the other one is Shivi SPA Enterprises. Recently he has started ‘Hi-Bond Multi Tapes SPA Private Ltd Company.’ They offer waterproof hi-bond tapes, a product line of NVH insulations, noise vibration and heat insulations. As a specialty product they are also into acoustic treatment tiles.

Ashok has been associated with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry as a Member of its IPR Committee. He is also a part of the CII as a Honorary Member of its SME Council, besides being associated with IIT Mumbai, Amity University and Meerut Institute of Technology.

Ashok was born in Allahabad and brought up in different places. He says that on the family front, it was not a smooth journey for them as they faced several stumbling blocks in their business and property but they somehow coped to manage the situation.

Ashok’s school started a little late because when he was four-five years old, he immigrated to England with his family and there he was given informal education from 1st to 4th class at home. He went to school in 5th std and there he topped in the district. Thereafter they came back to India and he studied in Vidya Bhavan, Udaipur till 10th std. He did his 11th & 12th from Allahabad. He did his Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, M.Tech in Industrial Control Systems and MBA in Finance and then started working.

Ashok’s first job was at HCL. Then he worked at the LG group for a few years and switched to UFlex as a Project Head. He worked with several companies and went abroad to work with an African-European Joint Venture as a Project Head. Meanwhile, he lost his father so he had to come back to India where he initially joined a Swiss MNC as a Corporate Business Advisor and Samsung as a Vice President-Manufacturing. Soon he quit his jobs for not liking it there and started his own business and that is how his journey of innovation started.

Talking about role models, Ashok says he has been inspired by two people in his life. One is his father, who was a struggler and who never discriminated against anyone. Another person who inspires him is his boxing coach, Arjun Singh who was Ashok’s house warden in school. He has a similar thinking with that of his father’s and believes in discipline. Also, his cousin, Sushil Shukla inspired him a lot as he always says, ‘deeds are better than the hell of thinking and confusion.’

Ashok’s success mantra is from the  Geeta, that if you want to achieve a good goal, you have to have the right guru.

Ashok thinks that he has always been a born leader because he has never followed a flock.

According to Ashok, education and experience both matter. In fact he says that education should always be taken seriously because the kind of Engineering and Science that is taught till 12th std is equivalent to almost 95% of the work done in such industries and rest is experience. Experience is your own learning and it doesn’t work without upgrading.

Ashok gives a message to the young generation to believe in your parents, gurus and teachers, choose a right purpose, put in your best efforts along with sparing time for your friends to have fun and enjoy your life.

Ashok advises the young parents that when it comes to parenting, too much scolding and being strict would not work. Rather, you should be affectionate towards your children without pampering them too much as it would again spoil them.

If Ashok could go back in time, he would like to enjoy his childhood once again as he missed out on it by being too serious as a kid. Also, he would not join any job and start his business straight away because as an entrepreneur, he enjoys his life more and is free to do whatever he wants to do.

Besides his work and routine activities, he likes to talk to his friends everyday and meet them in person.
