Ashish Kumar Saxena is a physiotherapist from Kanpur. Originally from Kashipur, he shifted with his family to Kanpur in 1982.
Ashish completed primary schooling in his village and pursued the rest of his education in Kanpur. Thereafter, he did his B.Sc and was exposed to many opportunities, one of which was the forest service, and the other was the medical field. One of his uncles suggested he go for physiotherapy, and since then, Ashish has been practicing in this field.
Discussing his early days, Ashish shares that his family’s financial condition was not good and his father used to remain sick. He lost his father in 1993. Thereafter, his mother started working in a bank, after which they achieved a certain level of financial stability.
Talking about his role models, Ashish says he draws inspiration from his mother, who struggled all her life to give a good life to him and his siblings.
Speaking about the pandemic, Ashish shares that COVID further increased his social bonding with his family as well as his community.
Ashish advises aspiring physiotherapists to practise patience to make a long career in this field. He adds that the real happiness comes in a doctor’s life when they see their patients get relief from their pain.
In his free time, Ashish likes to sleep and take proper rest. He also does research on some physiotherapy techniques and takes all complicated cases as a challenge. Ashish is also a philanthropist who stays connected with NGOs and often indulges in charity.
