Motivated and inspired by his father’s flair for drawing and sketching, Ashish Kailay chose to be a professional tattoo artist.

Ashish Kailay owns a tattoo studio in Chandigarh named KailayGraphy Tattoo Studio and has been tattooing for the last six years. Ashish claims he has made almost one thousand tattoos and sketches to date.

Ashish belongs to Chandigarh and completed his schooling in the city. Ashish was always inclined towards drawing and used to attend school only for art and drawing. After schooling, he did his graduation and also started doing a job.

When asked about his role models, Ashish says his inspiration to start drawing and tattooing has been his father, who himself was an incredible artist, painter, and sketcher.  Moreover, Ashish’s friends have always encouraged him to take up tattoo art and helped him to develop confidence.

Ashish started tattooing in 2015 and later realised that his designs had some issues. Thus, in 2017 he took a professional training course that helped him to improve his skills. He trains students at his studio and imparts the knowledge that he has gained.

Ashish believes that education is very important in life but an interest in whatever one does is a must. Interest in their work takes a person closer to their success.

During the COVID pandemic, Ashish utilised his time in exercising and taking care of his health and fitness during the first wave. However, during the second wave, he lost his father and experienced a tough time.

Ashish advises youngsters to explore themselves, be among good and positive company, indulge in healthy discussions, understand the financial situations of their family and study accordingly, and make their parents proud.
