Ashish’s confident approach towards his business and maintaining his firm’s goodwill has landed him in a comfortable position today.

Ashish Ajmera is the owner of Industrial Controls, a trading company dealing in top electrical goods brands like Havells, Polycab, Dowells, Almex and many more. He completed his schooling from Udaipur at Central Academy School and his bachelors at Pacific College of Commerce. Thereafter, he did his MBA at Mohanlal Sukhadia University. Ashish’s first job experience was with HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd as a Sales Development Manager where he worked for a year.

Thereafter, Ashish went to Delhi to get training for the electrical business he is currently into and stayed away from his family for a year which he considers as a struggling phase in his life. He then came back to Udaipur and indulged in marketing to expand his business. He shares that his passion for his business helped him overcome the challenges he faced in establishing it.

His business success mantra lies in the trust and bonding he has with his father and brothers in running his family business. Ashish is into industrial power generation, the scope of which is immense and he also supplies materials to reputed companies like Hindustan Zinc, Secure Meters and Wolkem Group etc.

Ashish shares that the future scope of the power sector is growing since government expansions can be seen in solar power plants and infrastructural aspects like road networks, lighting poles and flyovers. His business offers a full package from domestic to industrial providing all electrical materials.

For people who wish to enter this business, Ashish suggests that one should have the basic requirements like knowledge of fluctuation in metal prices and also possess the stock capacity to sustain longer.

Ashish believes that experience is more important than education because if one has practical experience, it will be more beneficial whereas education just provides a foundation to get started. He shares that his father always taught him to fulfil the commitments given to the customers and never delay in making payments since that damages one’s goodwill.

Discussing COVID, Ashish says that though his business came to a standstill during the lockdowns, he got ample time to spend with his family. However, post lockdown when normalcy kicked in, his business grew better with the smooth functioning of projects except his tie-up with a Chinese firm with whom his business operations got shut.
