Asha came to the teaching field on her father’s advice but came to like it.

Asha Dak is a Teacher at Rockwoods High School.

Asha comes from Udaipur. She recalls her childhood as an active and jolly one that she spent playing with her cousins. Academically, she has done MA in Hindi. She then pursued B.Ed to get a government teaching job, on the insistence of her father.

Asha got married after completing her B.Ed and consequently her touch with competitive exams got lost due to her pregnancy. She appeared for the competitive exams but couldn’t make it. However, she continued with her job at a private school which she had been doing since 1995. Asha then began working at the Sunbeam School in 2012 and worked there for six years.

Talking about the struggling years of her life, Asha says that after 2-3 years of her marriage, her husband began suffering huge losses in his business, and a financial crisis ensued in the family. Asha says that she didn’t lose hope and began giving tuition along with working at the school to keep the income running and eventually the storm settled in two years.

Sharing her COVID experience, Asha says that it was quite difficult for her on a personal level as their family budget was disturbed due to the salary cuts. Professionally, she says that she learned conducting online classes.

In her free time, Asha likes to do stichting. She assists her son in his clothing startup, which he has taken online as well.

Given a chance to go back in time with a time machine, Asha would like reliving her childhood and cherish those fun and free moments once again.

Advising the young generation, Asha says that you should listen to your elders. She also advises them to worship their work and devote themselves to it.
