Arun Sharma is an entrepreneur, author and trainer for CAT, CSAT and other aptitude exams. He has over twenty years of experience in this field.
Arun is an IIM-Bangalore alumnus. He chose to become an entrepreneur instead of pursuing a corporate career. Alongwith teaching in a physical form, he also digitized his classes eight years ago and took the advantage of a first mover. He attracted people from all over the country by offering a digital curriculum. In a very short span of time, he paid off all his losses and still remained in surplus. In 2003, he started writing books on aptitude, which became a huge success. Even today his books are very popular.
Talking about his struggles, Arun says that back then in 1995, not much support was offered to entrepreneurship, which cost him a few struggling years. He also took a franchise of a computer training center which sank extensively and put him in a huge economic block. Just at the age of twenty-five, he started getting court notices for turning his business into NPA. This blunder shook him inside out. With a lot of courage he gathered himself and set about fixing things.
Arun says that because of his competitive spirit, he still gives CAT exams to compete with his students and every time he qualifies it with top percentile. He also does so to train his students as per the latest level of competition prevailing in the market.
Talking about his proud moments, Arun says that once he had given the CAT exam with a sleepless night and reached the exam center after quite a challenging journey, still he was able to qualify that exam with 99.6 percentile, which he is very proud of. Apart from this, changing people’s lives and landing them at good places is his biggest achievement.
Advising the youngsters, Arun says that even though COVID has taken away a lot from us, it has also brought a big change to the world, which you should appreciate. Consequently, major shifts could also be seen in the career paradigms in the near future, which you must have a hold on to. Therefore he advises them to prepare for their careers in this light and move towards excellence.
