Taking to his childhood passion, Arshad, today, is a wildlife photographer who raises awareness on wildlife conservation through his conservation photography.

Arshad Ali has been following his passion for wildlife photography as his profession for the past eight years. Alongside, he also works for Google in India.

Arshad hails from Aligarh, UP.

Recalling his childhood, Arshad says that his father was in a transferable government job and due to that he grew up in different cities. He spent his early childhood in Meerut. He studied till grade seven in Meerut itself. In 2010, his family shifted to Aligarh and he completed the remainder of his school and college education from there. Besides, he says that as a kid he loved watching the National Geographic channel on the TV and thinks that his interest in wildlife photography stems from there.

Arshad shares that he started pursuing photography as a hobby when he was in college. Alongside his studies, he learned to operate a camera and explored wildlife photography. After completing college, he worked in Dubai for a couple of months, and then moved back to India and joined Google at their Gurgaon office.

Talking about his challenges, Arshad says that his father showed his apprehension when he learned that he wanted to pursue wildlife photography as his profession. And due to that, he had to take up a job and pursue his passion alongside it. Besides, buying a camera to click photographs was also challenging for him as high-resolution cameras and related gear are quite expensive, he says.

Arshad thinks that through wildlife photography awareness about wildlife conservation can also be raised. And his objective behind pursuing wildlife photography is wildlife conservation.

Arshad says that you don’t always get what you desire to get in life. He says that he had the opportunity to go to Australia to attend a program on wildlife photography and wildlife conservation but he had to let go of that opportunity as he couldn’t convince his father. He laments that he should have grabbed that opportunity.

Giving us an account of his achievements, Arshad says that he stood first in a university-level photography competition that witnessed the participation of more than fifteen-hundred teams. He got featured in a newspaper for his achievement and it is the proudest moment of his life. Besides, being able to grow his YouTube channel is also an achievement for him.

When asked about his role models, Arshad says that Joel Sartore, an American Photographer, is his role model. Besides, Mr. Ahmed, his English teacher at school, who encouraged him to pursue wildlife photography, is his other role model.

Arshad believes that women's empowerment is the need of the hour and if he ever gets a chance he will work for the cause.

His Life Mantra is to focus on his work and never to expect any help from anyone to solve his problems.

In his spare time, Arshad likes to travel to the mountains to boost his creativity and attain mental peace.
