One has to be a lifelong learner irrespective of their profession.
Dr. Arpita Anand is a dentist and co-founder of Realtooth Chain of Dental Clinics in Lucknow. She has been in the profession of dentistry for the past seventeen years now.
Recollecting her childhood, Arpita says that both her parents were doctors and were into government jobs, and owing to her parents’ different postings, she got to live in different places. And it made her independent as she would be required to do her chores herself and would also have to take care of her younger brother. Besides, she says that completing her schooling in different schools in different places brought her closer to different people and helped her understand them better. Furthermore, she says, she also spent some time in her childhood at her grandmother’s place where she learned ethics and managerial lessons from her grandmother.
Arpita shares that looking at her parents’ emergency duties and odd hours of duties, she was pretty clear in her mind not to pursue medicine. However, she always wanted to give back to society and hence chose to pursue dentistry instead.
After completing her education, Arpita worked with HAL as a consultant and then along with her husband she started a chain of dental clinics with an aim to provide all the premium dental services under one roof. And thus the Realtooth Chain of Dental Clinics was born. Today, the chain consists of four dental clinics running in different parts of Lucknow.
Arpita shares that since their inception, she has always ensured that the best practices in dentistry are followed at her clinics. And it also helped her deal with her patients during COVID times as she had already been following the best hygiene practices. Besides, she says that she started her chain of dental clinics to provide budding dentists with a platform to learn and grow.
Talking about her mistakes, Arpita says that everyone makes mistakes, and by learning from our mistakes we all should move on. She also committed mistakes but always learned from them and moved on.
Talking about her achievements, Arpita says that getting compliments from her patients for treating them well is an achievement for her. Besides, she was also awarded the Woman Achiever Award by Hindustan Times.
To all dental professionals, Arpita advises them to become lifelong learners and do their work with utmost passion.
When asked about her role models, Arpita says that she tries to find a role model in every person she meets. She considers her father, husband, and children as her inspirations.
In her spare time, Arpita likes to read, play badminton, and do outdoor activities like brisk walking, playing with her kids, etc.
Arpita advises people to push themselves out of their comfort zones to grow and become successful in life.
