Continuous learning is the only way to grow in life.
Arpit Vyas is a self-taught Professional Artist based in Pune.
He has been working in this field for three years. He completed his education in Mechanical Engineering from Singhania University, Udaipur in 2014. Identifying the artist within him, he explored fields like Designing, Event Management and the likes. Arpit then shifted from Udaipur to Pune and is working as a full-time artist doing wall murals, TEDx events, live painting events and conducting workshops.
When Arpit was in his last year of Engineering, he wasn’t sure if he really wanted to make his career in the Mechanical field. That was when he stepped back and decided to choose Art, a field which he is passionate about. Not that Arpit didn’t try his options in Mechanical Engineering, he did enrol in Java and was constantly looking for jobs in IT in Pune. However, at the same time he had started networking with people doing events and participating in it. Eventually he made up his mind to pursue Art instead which was his true calling.
For aspiring artists, Arpit says that it takes patience to get financially stable in this field. He adds that there are various professional courses available in Arts like Fine Art, Applied Arts, 3D Art which interested candidates can pursue. Arpit also suggests focusing on one’s skills and practising to get better at it. He says that social media is a powerful tool to showcase one’s work sitting at home.
Arpit has also been a basketball player. He feels that one can always learn to be a leader and he does not believe in the concept of born leadership.
Talking about struggles, Arpit says that it was a difficult time for him to decide where his interest lies while all of his friends already got placed in good companies. He used to draw, sitting alone in a room thinking of an opportunity to strike at his door.
Arpit once got an opportunity to participate in an Open Mic event in Pune which gave him a sense of accomplishment and a platform to connect with other artists. He advises the youth to be as curious as possible and invest your time in something they are passionate about.
Arpit considers his parents and cousin brother as his role models. He also draws inspiration from his close friends who supported and motivated him to be the best version of himself.
Arpit prefers working alone than working in groups. He says that ups and downs are part of everyone’s life and in such a scenario we ought to be optimistic and curious enough to learn and choose a life of our dreams.
