Arpit Tripathi is a dedicated media professional, currently serving as the Location Head at FM Radio City, Udaipur.
Arpit's roots trace back to Chittorgarh, but he was raised in Udaipur. He fondly reminisces about his school days at Alok School in Udaipur. He later pursued a Hotel Management course in Delhi.
In 2011, after finishing his hotel management studies, Arpit had plans to go to the USA. However, his visa application was rejected due to economic difficulties in the market at the time.
So, he returned to Udaipur in search of career opportunities. Initially, he worked in the hospitality sector, taking on a job at Club Mahindra and later working as a Front Office Manager at the Taj Lake Palace. However, he found these jobs unexciting and decided to explore opportunities in different industries.
He then ventured into a role as a Sales Executive at Angel Broking, aiming to acquire knowledge of the stock market and sales. Later, he started working for another company, but he didn't find the new job enjoyable.
Arpit shares that later, he had an opportunity to join Dainik Bhaskar in 2013. Since then, he has been working in the media industry, where he feels content. He spent three years at Dainik Bhaskar, followed by four years in radio- one and a half years at Red FM in Jodhpur, and another two and a half years at Udaipur Big FM.
After his stint at Big FM, he transitioned to working in television with News 18 Rajasthan (formerly known as ETV Rajasthan) for approximately two and a half years. Presently, he holds the position of Location Head at Radio City, Udaipur, where he oversees responsibilities such as team management and revenue management.
Reflecting on his childhood, Arpit recalls it as a pleasant period. He was raised in Udaipur, but he has fond memories of visiting Chittorgarh during festivals because his grandparents lived there. However, he laments that with the passing away of his grandparents, the festive excitement has diminished.
When asked about his role models, Arpit identifies three individuals who have influenced his life. Initially, during his tenure as an executive at Dainik Bhaskar, he looked up to his GM, Ajith Johnny, for inspiration. Secondly, he considers Manish Menaria from Big FM as his role model, citing how Menaria played a crucial role in boosting his confidence in both personal and professional spheres. Lastly, Arpit regards Dilip Singh Yadav as his third role model, appreciating Yadav's consistent guidance and support.
Arpit's favorite quote comes from the movie Sanju, and it goes, "Na sar jhuka ke jiyo na munh chhupa ke jiyo," which translates to "Live without bowing your head or hiding your face."
Reflecting on his struggles, Arpit shares that a significant challenge in his life was the lack of guidance. Without proper guidance, he had to try various jobs before finally discovering his passion for the media industry. Another hurdle he faced was when he joined Red FM in Jodhpur. It took him six months to adapt to the new city and team. However, he believes that struggles also provide valuable learning experiences.
He offers valuable advice to people, emphasizing the importance of working with honesty and always considering the benefit of your clients in whatever field you choose. He also encourages individuals not to believe that their life is full of struggles while others are always happy because everyone faces difficulties. Arpit advocates helping each other in every possible way.
