Arjun Das is a talented painter who has harbored a deep passion for art since his childhood.
Talking about his childhood, Arjun says that he was an average student and used to enjoy watching cartoons and would often sketch them. However, he never gave much thought to what he would become in future. Arjun's father was a government employee, and he believed that he would secure a job like his father when he grew up.
Arjan shares that when he completed his matriculation exam, his result was affected by a single subject, which left him discouraged. However, with the encouragement of those around him, he decided to retake the exam and successfully passed. Unfortunately, his interest in pursuing higher education waned, and during his 12th grade, he started working at Tata Steel where he used to do some art work. At that time, he would earn around 1000 rupees for his artwork. Witnessing the monetary value of his creations, he lost interest in academic studies, but he still managed to complete his schooling.
Arjun says that he got married in 2013 and began to follow renowned artists, trying to understand what made their paintings so special. One day, while casually browsing the internet, he stumbled upon an online form. Without much seriousness, he filled it out and uploaded a picture of his painting. To his astonishment, within a week, he received a call from someone interested in purchasing his artwork but requested a discounted price. The lady offered him 50,000 rupees for the painting. This unexpected turn of events left him in a state of shock since he had never earned such a substantial amount before. Arjun promptly delivered the painting to the buyer's house, received the cash, and this experience ignited his passion for painting even further. He started uploading pictures of his artwork online, and his paintings began to sell. Today, the starting price of his paintings are 50 thousand to one lakh rupees.
As Arjun's reputation grew, he had the opportunity to meet Sir Ratan Tata, which further enhanced his fame. With his flourishing business, he used the money earned from selling his artwork to build a larger house and has changed three cars in the span of 10 years. From humble beginnings and facing setbacks in his academic journey, Arjun discovered his passion for art and took a leap of faith.
Reflecting on his journey, Arjun admits to having made mistakes, particularly in trusting individuals who later betrayed him. However, his greatest achievement lies in the respect he now commands from people.
When offering advice to the younger generation aspiring to build a career in art, Arjun emphasizes the importance of following prominent artists. However, he advises against directly copying their work but to find their own unique style.
