Arijita started learning music at a very young age but found her passion in acting, and embarked on her journey to pursue acting professionally. She has learned to live her life through acting and is continuously working on her skills.

Arijita Mukherjee is an actor and performer. She has been associated with Theater and Music for the past 18 years.

Arijita hails from Kolkata.

Recalling her childhood, Arijita says that she was a jovial child and used to imitate people and characters that she watched. Her maternal family was a part of Indian classical culture and practiced classical music of a particular gharana, and she learned music from her mother. She started her journey in music but later realized that she wanted to become an actor. She did her schooling at Shantiniketan. She took part in plays and cultural programmes at her school.

Sharing about her journey, Arijita says that theater has given her the liberty to express her emotions, and she loves performing on stage. Being in theater was a fun time for her, and learning about different characters and interacting with different actors interested her the most.

Talking about her struggles, Arijita says that when she decided to pursue acting professionally, she had to face body-shaming and was getting roles suitable for someone ten years older than her age. She often gets negative roles in the serials, for which she often gets trolled on social media. However, she took it as a challenge to improve her skills and tried to give her best.

Speaking about her achievements, Arijita says that the appreciation and love that she gets from her viewers is her biggest achievement.

When asked about her role models, Arijita says that her mother has been her inspiration and guide throughout her life. Besides her mother, she tries to learn something good from every person.

Arijita’s life mantra is to ignore all the negativity and just concentrate on what she wants to do next in her life.
