An Indian restaurateur, Arihant, started Little Italy in Udaipur to provide a fine dining experience in the city. He believes that leadership can be honed over time, with a strong leader maintaining teamwork and leading others to success.

Arihant Doshi hails from Sujangarh, Rajasthan, but his family moved to Udaipur 30 years ago. Arihant, after graduating from high school, moved away to pursue further education. After 8 years, he moved back to Udaipur and started living with his family. His father is in the real estate business, and his mother is in the financial business. Prior to that, his family was in the diamond-cutting business, so naturally, the idea of starting a restaurant was alien to them.

Arihant chose Little Italy because he felt that Udaipur needed a place that served fine-dining Italian food. The idea was to introduce a place that offered not only Italian cuisine but also various international cuisines with an experience of fine dining. Basically, he wanted to do something different from his family business.

Narrating the story of how Little Italy began, Arihant expresses his utmost appreciation to the founders of this elegant restaurant chain. Little Italy presently has over 60 restaurants in India. He chose to buy a franchise of Little Italy because of the quality of food offered by Little Italy and, of course, their best-in-class service. The highlight of this restaurant is that most of the raw materials are imported from Pune, which ensures the consistency and quality of the food offered.

Since the establishment of Little Italy, Arihant has made sure to keep up with the reputation and offer great service to the clients, thus maintaining the decorum of the place.

He exclaims that even before he did not buy the franchise of this restaurant, he had been a regular customer and had experienced consistency in their food, which is what inspired him to invest in this venture. For Arihant, the best part about Little Italy is the pizza and pasta, which are to die for.

Talking about his challenges, Arihant shares that he had several obstacles, but he faced them with the utmost zest and determination, solving the problems one step at a time. During the outbreak of the worldwide pandemic, he had to close his restaurant, which was unfortunate but had to be done for the greater good. It was a really tough decision for him, considering he was so passionate about pursuing it. Arihant also had to fire staff members, which was a tough decision.

Arihant feels that experience is more important than education as it highlights the path of light, which makes a person who he or she is. Arihant has done his masters in marketing. He is passionate about cooking, and little Italy is the culmination of both his education and passion.

He considers his father his role model, who never says no to anything and faces challenges head-on. He also looks up to Elon Musk, who is a great businessman. Arihant feels that leadership is inherent and something that gets honed over time. According to him, a good leader is the one who is always at the forefront and takes it upon himself to maintain great teamwork and lead them to success.

Talking about future plans, Arihant expresses his desire to start a 5-star resort that is reflective of all that he has learned in his life. In his free time, Arihant likes to cook.
