Anurag Saxena is the Director of Pratap Gaurav Kendra, Udaipur. Born in Jaipur, he worked for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as a full-time worker from 1996 to 2002. He also tried his hands on businesses like opening a petrol pump to a company dealing in mobile handsets, building construction and event management.
Discussing his childhood, Anurag shares that his father was in a government job and his mother used to teach in a private school. While in his 6th standard, Anurag started funding his own expenses by taking tuitions. He has completed his Bachelors in Science and also has a degree in Law. Anurag was approached by some seniors at the RSS to contribute to their project Pratap Gaurav Kendra and today he is working in the role of a Director there.
Talking about his struggles, Anurag shares that he had to face corruption in many of his deals, from purchasing land for his petrol pump to getting his application approved by the authorities. Only when an RSS senior pitched in, his application to open a petrol pump on the highway was approved. Narrating this incident, Anurag shares that his principles for him are of utmost relevance and he in no way supports any activity which leads to corruption.
Discussing COVID, Anurag shares that a meeting was called by the District Collector in which the officer asked the concerned authorities of all the tourist places to incorporate certain necessary arrangements. He also started doing Facebook live to connect with people online discussing the corona status and the steps required to be taken going forward.
Since his childhood, Anurag has been interested in singing and writing. This is when he started an online campaign on Facebook and Twitter for people to record a song and post it, this way he received a huge response and an amalgamation of unique melodies for the listeners. He adds that his grandfather, who was a freedom fighter, had a penchant for writing poems. Taking inspiration from him, Anurag has also written around 400 poems by now. He also writes on social media and is currently drafting one on Maharana Kumbha.
