Overcoming his struggles, Anurag is scaling great heights in his life because of his firm determination and perseverance to do something worthwhile.

Anurag Mishra is the Founder of Cipher Schools. He has been running this ed-tech company for the past five years. He mainly works in the B2C segment and helps university students to get corporate jobs by re-developing and enhancing their skills.

Anurag shares that he was in the Navy earlier. But after dropping out from there, he pursued engineering in Computer Science. Thereafter, he worked in an ed-tech startup and his interest began to develop in this field. In 2019, he quit his job and set up his own startup.

Anurag hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He did his schooling from an ICSE Board affiliated school there. He says that he was better at sports than studies but subsequently his parents restricted him from going further in sports.

Recalling his childhood, Anurag says that coming from a middle-class family, there used to be a lot of restrictions at his home. Also, it was a prerequisite for him to get good grades in school to convince his parents about anything.

When asked about his role models, Anurag says that he considers his family as his biggest inspiration. It is because even after suffering a lot, they gave him a good upbringing and education and due to that he has reached where he is today.

Talking about his struggles, Anurag says, like every father, his father also wanted him to do a reliable well-paid job. But breaking that barrier was quite challenging for him as he had to join the Navy. He went through another hard time when he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Besides, the hectic lifestyle of a corporate job gave him a real hard time. Afterwards, leaving a lucrative job to open a startup was again quite challenging for him. Eventually, being an entrepreneur he always struggles for cash, which is troublesome.

Sharing his COVID experience, Anurag says that the pandemic period was good for him. He spent more time on his startup and got good results.  He says that initially, it was a bit of a struggle to convince people to take quality learning through online platforms. However, it gradually turned successful due to the compulsions of the pandemic.

Between education and experience, Anurag believes that education plays a vital role in building careers because without education you cannot gain experience. He feels that experience is all about possessing certain skills and facing life’s challenges resolutely. And you get that understanding through education. He adds that education helps us to get experience and live life in a better way.

Speaking about leadership, Anurag says it as more of an emotional aspect than being someone’s boss. He believes more in building relationships with people and works as a part of a team.

If Anurag had a Time Machine, he would like to go back to his school time and relive it with his friends.

In his spare time, Anurag loves to sing his favorite songs. Besides, he is a tea lover so whenever he gets time, he likes to prepare his own tea and enjoys it. Sometimes he watches videos on YouTube and movies on Amazon Prime. He doesn’t mostly plan his free time.

Anurag suggests the youth to explore and experiment as much as possible without thinking  too much unnecessarily because no one really cares about what you do. He believes that as a human being, we have every right to work as well as enjoy personal life, which we should never forget.

Anurag advises the parents, who even today have conventional and conservative-traditional approaches in upbringing their children, to break communication barriers with their children and interact with them. Further he says that instead of imposing your dreams on them, understand their passion and guide them towards the right path.
