Anuradha is an artist who loves nature and has been working in the field of painting for the last forty years. She represents the culture and life of tribal people through her paintings.

Anuradha Thakur is a painting artist in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Recalling her childhood, Anuradha says that she was born in a small town and was always appreciated by her drawing teacher for her ability to paint. She got support from her father and family and eventually got admission to a fine arts college.

Speaking about her journey, Anauradha shares that after completing her graduation in fine arts, she dropped painting because she wanted to work for the welfare of society. She started working for the housewives and slum area children and earned various experiences. She taught art to many slum children with the use of raw materials like different colours of mud or gum from the babool tree, etc. This was helpful in boosting the confidence of those children and developed the behavioural attitude among them. She also got the state award for this work.

In addition, Anuradha shares that she worked with and trained the adolescent girls in the tribal areas and made them confident enough to do their own artistic creations. She also conducted an art workshop at the Search Institute of Dr. Abhay Bang. Eventually, after 22 years, she decided to explore and represent the lives as well as the cultures of tribal people on canvas through her art series. She went to different places to gain the experience of tribal areas and convey it on canvas. She did many exhibitions and was recognized with the 100 Women Achievers Award by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Anuradha believes that art creation gives a calming experience and is helpful in attaining mental peace.

Advising aspirants to her field, Anuradha says that to explore art, it is important to study the different mediums and gain knowledge through experiments. One should also study natural and man-made objects to make their own creations.

Anuradha’s life mantra is art exploration, which enhances nearsightedness and constant intelligence. Art exploration is also helpful in combining nature's peaceful and disrupted rhythms.
