Anup, a former Ranji Trophy player, now teaches cricket tactics and serves on the junior cricket selection committee. He emphasizes the sport's growing popularity and encourages aspiring players to focus on the fundamentals.

Anup Dave is a former Ranji Trophy player and a key member of the selection committee for junior cricket. With his extensive experience, Anup has gained valuable insights and knowledge of the game. As a cricket coach, he aims to help players develop their skills and understanding of the sport. His expertise and hands-on experience make him an invaluable resource for those aspiring to excel in cricket. He is dedicated to helping players achieve their full potential and reach their goals.

Anup, a Banswara native, was inspired by an international cricket player who represented the Indian cricket team in international test matches. He began playing cricket at an early age, and under his mentor's guidance, he refined his abilities and game knowledge. Anup's enthusiasm for cricket grew, leading him to aim for perfection and challenge himself. His commitment and diligent efforts secured him a place in the state-level cricket team and caught the attention of national selectors, ultimately resulting in his selection for the Indian U-19 cricket team. Anup's journey from an aspiring cricketer to representing his country at such a prestigious level fueled his determination to excel in the sport.

Anup was chosen to play cricket for both the Rajasthan Under-16 and Under-19 teams. He participated in the Ranji Trophy as well as domestic tournaments. Anup had limited time for further studies after high school because he had to stop studying to concentrate on cricket tournaments and practice. He had to make the tough choice to put his cricket career ahead of his further studies. He had to make sacrifices, but his devotion to the sport and perseverance paid off as he went on to win championships and opportunities to play at different levels for both his state and his country.

In 2001, Anup secured a position with the Indian Railways in Mumbai through the sports quota. He took the job because he believed that working for the railways would allow him to play cricket more frequently since the railway cricket team competes for the Ranji Trophy. However, looking back, he regrets that he would have had better possibilities if he had earned his bachelor's degree before joining the railways.

Later, Anup took a transfer to Indian Railways, Vadodara. There, he worked as well as played in different cricket matches for the Railways team. Currently, he is working with Indian Railways in Udaipur and also plays for the Rajasthan Cricket Team. During his tenure, he also offered coaching to the young cricketers in the city. Later, he also qualified for the exam conducted by the BCCI for coaches. He served as a coach and manager for the Rajasthan cricket team for almost four years.

Compared to earlier times, Anup believes that there are more prospects in cricket now. These days, the BCCI also administers a lot of exams for pitch and spot testing. One can pursue a career in cricket and play in professional competitions such as the Indian Premier League. Anup thinks that many opportunities have arisen for ambitious cricket players as a result of the sport's recent growth. Opportunities exist in sports commentary, cricket journalism, and even cricket administration, in addition to coaching and management. There are now many more opportunities for a successful cricket career due to the sport's growing popularity.

Anup credits his success to his passion and dedication to the sport. He believes that without cricket, he would have been in a different town. The sport's growing popularity has provided numerous opportunities for players like Anup to excel both on and off the field. Anup is grateful for the opportunities cricket has provided him and his life.

For his accomplishment, he gives appreciation to his father's unwavering support and the opportunity to train in Delhi under well-known cricketers. Along with his wife, he also thanks his family for their constant encouragement and patience during his cricket career. Anup has been very successful in the sport because of the family's understanding and persistent backing.

Anup advises aspiring cricketers to focus on fundamentals and continue practicing even if performance doesn't improve overnight. He believes consistent practice and dedication are key to becoming a skilled cricketer. He stresses setting goals, seeking guidance from coaches or mentors, and maintaining a positive mindset. Success in cricket often comes with perseverance and resilience, so aspiring cricketers should never give up on their dreams.

Anup discusses the COVID outbreak and how, for the most part, cricket kept him away from home, but that during the pandemic, he eventually got to spend time with his family. Along with improving his fitness, he ran and swam a lot. However, he regrets that many kids were unable to continue practicing cricket because of the pandemic. There is little doubt that the pandemic has interfered with young cricketers' usual training schedules and possibilities. Their development and progression in the sport might have been hampered by the lack of regular practice sessions and matches.

The former cricketer, Anup, believes he would have enjoyed playing for the Ranji Trophy again if he could go back in time. He recalls the excitement and camaraderie of high-level cricket, believing it would have been a valuable experience for his growth and provided more opportunities to showcase his skills.

When Anup is not working or coaching young cricketers, he enjoys running and playing games, as they not only maintain his physical fitness but also help him relax and clear his mind from daily life's pressures.

Anup's success mantra is to avoid worrying about failures and focus on improving his game for future success. He sees failure as an opportunity for growth and learning. He avoids dwelling on past mistakes and instead analyzes his performance to identify areas for improvement. This mindset keeps him motivated and determined to continuously enhance his skills, ensuring he is always ready for future success.
