Anubha Srivastava is a personality development, soft skills and life skills development coach in the hospitality education industry.
Anubha was born and brought up in a joint family in Lucknow. She considers herself blessed to have lived a very happy and lively childhood playing cricket and video games with her cousins, and reading books. She says that her dreams were never crushed and that is what she loves about her formative years.
Anubha is a hotel management graduate from IHM, Aurangabad. She started her professional journey with ITC Hotels and has worked with Ista and Hyatt Hotels as well. Her last stint in the hospitality industry was as a front office manager at Hyatt Hotels, Pune.
Anubha shares that after her marriage she shifted to Gurugram from Pune and decided to get into the education sector. She joined IHM Hotel Management School as a front office faculty and worked there for eight years.
Talking about her role models, Anubha says that her mother is the one for her. Her mother has always been there for her and even supported her in getting into the hospitality sector when it was not considered a good option for girls. She was the one who motivated Anubha to restart her career after her marriage and Anubha feels indebted to her for everything in her life.
Anubha says that her success mantra in life is following the 3D’s: Dedication, Determination, and Discipline.
Anubha says that her favorite quote in life is, “Comebacks are always stronger than your setbacks.”
Sharing her struggles, Anubha says that getting into a field that was predominated by males was a tough nut to crack for her. She had to convince people to treat her the same way as her male counterparts and had to work hard to find her own place in the business.
When asked about her experience in the COVID-19 pandemic, Anubha says that the pandemic opened many avenues for women who were not allowed to step out of their homes to work. Today, women are working from their homes and that is a big change according to her.
Anubha advises the youth to not look for shortcuts and enjoy the process of reaching their goals in life.
In her free time, Anubha likes reading books and exploring new places to eat.
