Live in the present and enjoy life to the fullest.
Anubha Jain is a junior teacher based in Udaipur.
Anubha belongs to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. But she settled in Udaipur after her marriage. Initially, she wanted to be an interior designer, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, she had to become a teacher instead. She takes Political Science and Geography classes in the 11th and 12th grades.
Recalling her childhood memories, Anubha says that she was the youngest and most loved child among all of her siblings. She was a very mischievous kid throughout her childhood.
During the pandemic, as everybody switched to online classes, Anubha learned many new things. She even took advantage of enrolling in some online courses during that time. It was a new experience for her, and she was glad that her students cooperated in this new scenario. On a personal note, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family at home.
According to Anubha, she faced a few challenges in her profession during the pandemic period. She recalls that her subject of expertise was never the arts, as she belongs to the commerce field. But, when Corona hit, she was requested to teach Political Science and Geography and took it as a challenge. She learned many new things on this adventure. Anubha gives a message here that we should never be afraid of struggles and take difficult situations as a challenge.
Anubha gives a few words of advice to those who want to join the teaching profession. She advises them to be perceptive towards children, understand the psychology of students, and bond with them as friends rather than teachers. Learning is a cooperative and communicative activity. Every student is different, and hence their personal traits should be known by the teachers in order to effectively educate them.
When asked about education and experience, Anubha says that her experience has always helped her win every challenge in life. Education can help one create a base, but real-life experiences will help you conquer the challenges and thus feel self-satisfaction to move forward in life.
Anubha expresses her thoughts on leadership when she says that it is a very important trait for a teacher, but one must be down to earth. A teacher should always be patient with students and help them learn and participate actively instead of commanding them or rejecting their opinions. She believes that a true leader is one who respects and understands the feelings of others, and that is what makes you a good leader too.
Discussing her role model, Anubha says that she has a senior friend whom she considers one. Her friend was a fashion designer, and Anubha always wanted to be like her, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, she could not fulfil her dream. Her friend taught her a very important lesson in life: we should always give our 110% to whatever profession we pursue.
Anubha finds inspiration in the quote, “Things work out the best for those who make the best of how things work out.”
If Anubha could go back in time, she would go back to her teenage years and pursue her dream of becoming an interior designer. She wants to live in those times again, when she used to paint, do art, and be lively to the fullest.
In her free time, Anubha likes art and decorating her home.
Anubha has a life mantra: "Don't think of the past or future; just live in the present. Life is uncertain, so live to the fullest."
On a concluding note, she asks us to live in the present. If one makes their present better, they automatically make their future better.
