Anshuman was fortunate to have full support of his family in the field of arts. He is a professionally trained tattoo artist who emphasizes the importance of proper education in life.

Anshuman Panda is the owner of The Kalansh Tattoo, Rourkela.

Anshuman was born and brought up in Odisha. He did his schooling in Jashpur, Odisha. Then he did his bachelor in Fine Arts from Brahmapur. After that, he went to Agra to pursue his masters. Anshuman then did a course in tattooing from Bhopal and has been running his own tattoo studio in Rourkela since 2015.

Anshuman shares that after doing college, he started teaching arts in a school in Bhopal. Also, he had a keen interest in sketching and portrait making and hence took a small place in a mall and started making live portraits. Meanwhile, he had also seen the art of tattooing. So, he brought some machines from Delhi and started making tattoos as well. It was when his machines broke down and he went to get them repaired, he came in contact with Hari Nathani, a tattoo artist in Bhopal. Anshuman then trained under him and worked with him for two and a half years. Due to some family issues, he had to return to Odisha and he went to Rourkela.

Anshuman adds that in Rourkela,  tattooing was not much popular and hence it took around three years for him to popularize the same. Now, his studio is running well and he is satisfied with his progress.

Talking about his role models, Anshuman says that his father is the one for him as he always supported and motivated Anshuman to progress in the field of arts. He is also indebted to Hari Nathani who groomed him in this field.

When asked about his COVID-19 experience, Anshuman says that it was a bad time for everyone and the only good thing was getting to spend time with his family. He was also blessed with a kid in 2020. He also spent time improving his artistic skills, completing portrait orders, and entertaining a few clients at his home itself.

Anshuman feels that education is very important and without it, even an experienced person cannot do much in life. A combination of both is necessary for life according to him.

Talking about the youth, Anshuman says that they want to achieve everything quickly in life and should slow things down. He feels that they should gain proper experience and learn everything at their own pace.

In his free time, Anshuman likes perfecting his skills and traveling.
