Annapurna Bhatnagar is a dietitian and nutritionist and owner of a clinic named, Nutrition & Wellness.
Talking about her childhood, Annapurna says that she always wanted to do something in the field of medicine but couldn't get into it and hence chose to come into the field of nutrition. Annapurna says that when she started working in this field twenty-five years ago, there was little awareness about the same. She feels that having a healthy lifestyle helps us in becoming mentally and physically strong.
Annapurna did her schooling from Goa and completed B.Sc. in Food and Nutrition from Goa University. After marriage, she moved to Bhopal and did her post graduation from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. After that, she worked in a multi specialty hospital for ten years. Then she shifted to Lucknow for some professional reasons and got involved in the fitness and wellness industry. Annapurna is now running her own clinic in Bhopal for the past three years.
Annapurna feels that our mistakes help us in being patient, humble and wiser in life. She also has learned a lot from her mistakes and improved her personal self.
Talking about her achievements, Annapurna says that when her patients are benefited from her diet plans and lead a happy and healthy lifestyle is what she considers an achievement.
When asked about her role models, Annapurna says that she does not have a particular role model as she believes in learning from everyone around her. She feels that we can learn from our colleagues, juniors and students and keep the learning process on.
Annapurna says that in times of anxiety, we should do something that we love. She says that on a personal level, she loves reading books or indulging in baking and channelising her energy in the right direction to de-stress.
Annapurna says that nowadays, due to excessive exposure to the internet, people often resort to their own diet plans, which is not a good practice according to her. She says that a dietitian advises a proper diet plan according to your body type and hence are more effective and efficient.
When asked about her life mantra, Annapurna says that ‘Live and Let Live’ is what she follows in her life. She feels that we should always be kind to others and always be healthy.
