Founder of Post Production Work, Ankit Rathore is building a technology-driven video editing platform connecting clients with skilled editors. From humble beginnings to his ninth venture, his story reflects resilience, innovation, and a strong focus on systems, skills, and client satisfaction.

Ankit Rathore is the owner of ‘Post Production Work’, a video editing agency that is gradually evolving into a platform connecting video editors with clients.

Currently, around 600 editors are enrolled with them, and the team is working on developing the platform to make it more technical, professional, and scalable.

Post Production Work handles a wide range of services, including commercial events, weddings, YouTube videos, and all types of video editing. The agency has collaborated with several major clients, including Dewas-based brands like Amaltas, Property Mall, and Thorat Developers, and continues to serve many others.

Post Production Work began as an agency but is gradually being built into a global platform that provides all types of editing styles while solving the challenge clients face in finding skilled editors. The platform aims to connect clients and editors efficiently, offering comprehensive video services.

Ankit Rathore, a Mechanical Engineer by education, developed an interest in Digital Marketing during college. Designing websites and working with international clients inspired him to observe how global platforms operate. He learned coding independently and used it to build the foundation for his platform. From the beginning, he had a vision of creating a business structured around systems and processes, realizing that scaling a venture requires technology-driven systems.

At present, a dedicated team manages editor selection, ensuring only skilled editors are onboarded while the platform continues development. Post Production Work is not Ankit’s first venture; it is his ninth. Coming from a family with no prior business background, he has learned entirely through personal experience and failures. Most of his previous ventures were digital, with a few physical businesses, and each contributed to his current expertise.

The name “Post Production Work” was chosen deliberately, as a name represents identity. While pre-production involves shooting videos, the agency focuses exclusively on post-production video editing. This focus has been clear from the very beginning.

Ankit’s journey began in Dewas, where his family initially lived in a rental house in Pratapnagar. He completed schooling up to Class 8 at MGM School. Later, after the family purchased a home, he completed Class 12 from Saraswati CBSE School. His first attempt at Class 12 coincided with his father suffering a slip disc, and he scored around 55%. This experience made him realize the need to take responsibility for his life. During his second attempt, he studied seriously and scored 83%, marking the start of a focused pursuit of success.

He completed Mechanical Engineering from Bansal College. While he initially wanted to pursue Automobile Engineering due to his creative interests, the branch was unavailable. During engineering, he realized mechanical engineering was not his path and began exploring digital marketing, acquiring clients while still in college. Between 2016 and 2025, he has worked with over 150 national and international clients. This decade-long journey, alongside experimenting with multiple businesses, led him to focus on Post Production Work, where he could provide structured services and scale through a platform.

Ankit believes that true success is achieved when one is free from mental limitations. He draws inspiration from three role models: Sir Sky Sin for health, learning about nutrition and diet; Elon Musk for wealth, appreciating his engineering background and entrepreneurial achievements; and Sandeep Maheshwari for relationships, observing clarity in handling personal and professional connections.

Running a business involves ups and downs, which he likens to navigating a small boat through rough seas. Earlier, Ankit Rathore ran a private limited IT company with partners, but it closed overnight due to internal issues, resulting in a loss of all clients. Left with only his laptop, he struggled for 10–15 days before recalling his past perseverance—failing Class 12, completing engineering independently, and pursuing an MBA. Motivated by this, he decided to rebuild his career.

During the wedding season, he approached photographer friends to assist with editing or operating a camera. Although he initially lacked experience with cameras, he was guided by his photographer friend about the immense effort and low compensation of cameramen. This insight motivated him to focus on editing rather than production. A key turning point occurred when a UK-based client required a birthday video edited to an English song. His friend could not communicate with the client, so Ankit handled the requirement, learning editing software from YouTube in two days and delivering the video successfully. This experience confirmed that video editing was his true calling, with client satisfaction as the priority.

Post Production Work started from his home, managing weddings and events. As demand grew, he moved to a small office, then a larger market office, expanding the team with skilled editors capable of handling bulk projects. Eventually, the agency moved to its current office, where it continues to grow. While editing remains his bread and butter, entrepreneurship drives his long-term vision.

Simultaneously, Ankit Rathore has been developing a platform to connect editors with clients using his software expertise. While clients currently see Post Production Work as an agency, internally it is evolving into a full-fledged platform.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, he emphasizes that business is not about bluffing clients but about acquiring skills, delivering perfectly, and building trust. He highlights the importance of adapting communication for local and international clients, observing and learning from everyone, and maintaining humility. He stresses that continuous learning, clear thinking, and client satisfaction are the cornerstones of growth and success.
