Following his passion for marketing and business, Ankit decided to explore opportunities in the marble industry of Udaipur, in which he is performing well today.

Ankit Porwal is the proprietor of a Marble and Granite exporting firm in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has been in this field for eleven years now. Ankit says he has international clients in Europe, Africa, and the USA.

Ankit is a software engineer by qualification, but he had an inclination towards marketing since the beginning. His curiosity prompted him to pursue an MBA in Marketing, and he simultaneously got into the minerals and marble industry, a field prevalent in Udaipur. Ankit started working with Madhusudan Marbles, where he got enough exposure and experience.

Since Ankit belonged to a business family background, he had a natural inclination towards business. He did his schooling at Alok School, followed by a degree in engineering. Thereafter, Ankit emerged as the highest placement holder in his college and was placed in a company in 2007. However, due to the recession of 2008, his entry was delayed by a year, and it became a challenge for him to revive his career. But then Ankit saw a ray of light in the marble industry of Udaipur and decided to get into it.

Talking about the pandemic, Ankit says that it was a difficult period for everyone owing to deteriorating financial and health conditions, including him and his family, who contracted the virus. However, he remained positive and had the confidence to revive his business.

When asked about his role models, Ankit says he draws inspiration from his father, who started from scratch and is a self-made person today. He wishes to walk in his footsteps and imbibe his success values.

Ankit thinks that both education and experience are interlinked and cannot be separated. He believes that even after gaining rich experience, an individual can grow further with the help of education.

For those aspiring to get into the marble industry, Ankit says that money is not everything and one should focus more on learning. He suggests they gain knowledge of all materials and build strategies to enhance their client base.

If Ankit could go back in a Time Machine, he would like to relive his childhood days and also relive every fond memory he had as a kid.

In his leisure time, Ankit likes to spend time with his family, especially his daughters.
