Staying grounded will help you become a better person.
Ankit Nagpal is the Founder and Director of ‘Bang on Target PR and Media Solutions’ and ‘Groom to Bloom Grooming Academy.’ He is also a prominent jury member, having been associated with nearly 50 beauty pageants either as a jury member or a groomer.
Ankit hails from Delhi, where he attended The Frank Anthony School.
Reflecting on his childhood, Ankit recalls it as joyful. As a child, he enjoyed socialising and making friends. He fondly remembers forming a group with other kids in his neighbourhood, pooling money to organise events and gatherings to foster community spirit. Additionally, being the son of a journalist, he frequently accompanied his father to press conferences, movie premieres, and other media events, which pivoted his inclination towards networking and socialising.
An early starter, he began working at a call centre in Gurgaon, which helped him hone his communication skills. He then switched to Tata Indicom and later explored fields such as advertising, journalism, and PR. Eventually, he co-founded an event management company in Delhi with his sister, assuming full responsibility for the company upon her marriage.
Ankit started his grooming academy after being approached by beauty pageant organisers to conduct communication and confidence-building sessions for students. His expertise led to invitations from other pageant shows, where he began grooming contestants. Now, his academy, Groom to Bloom Grooming Academy, offers training in communication, confidence, stage presence, personality development, and public figure and social media persona. He believes grooming extends beyond fashion to encompass overall personality development, and he has also trained housewives and corporate employees.
Talking about his mistakes, he acknowledges that making mistakes is part of being human, and they serve as valuable learning experiences. Initially, he neglected preparing scripts before interacting with journalists and media professionals, leading to unfavourable outcomes. In his early business endeavours, he accepted projects without verifying client authenticity, resulting in non-payment and client disappearance after completion. Recognising these mistakes, he worked to improve and avoid similar situations in the future.
Regarding his achievements, he considers receiving the BR Ambedkar Award for the best PR company to be his proudest achievement. Additionally, making his parents proud is also a significant accomplishment for him.
Ankit advises individuals to carefully consider their career choices and not be influenced by others. He believes in healthy competition but emphasises the importance of aiming to succeed rather than defeating others. He advises all to stay humble and grounded in their lives.
For those aspiring to pursue a career in the modelling industry, he suggests acknowledging the industry's requirements regarding body shape and height. However, he encourages individuals to explore different modelling streams that align with their attributes. Moreover, he emphasises that success in modelling goes beyond physical appearance, requiring a well-rounded personality.
When asked about his role models, he cites his father as his primary role model. Professionally, life coach Rita Nandwani has been his inspiration, and he particularly cherishes the experience of sitting on a panel with her as a jury member.
To rejuvenate and revitalise himself, he likes to travel to mountains and beaches.
