Success is not the money, but the peace of mind.
Ankit Kumawat hails from Udaipur. He did his schooling from Jyoti Senior Secondary school, which is a Hindi medium school. Ankit used to believe he would not be able to pursue engineering owing to his financial status but because of his exceptional performance in the competitive examinations and his high ranks in the merit list, he was given scholarships which allowed him to pursue his dream. Ankit did his engineering from Pacific Institute of Technology, Udaipur and his Masters from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur
Ankit started his career as an assistant professor at Pacific Institute of Technology after his graduation in 2012 . He worked there for three years before joining Pacific Institute of Engineering where he worked from 2015-2019. Currently, for the last two years, Ankit has been working at S.S. College of Engineering as an assistant professor. Along with that, he also does freelance consulting in Civil Engineering. In future, he also plans to pursue a Phd from a well-renowned institute in India or abroad.
During college, Ankit realised that he loved explaining concepts of engineering to other fellow students, and he was very good at connecting with them. Post-graduation, he tried in many different consulting companies for a job but he felt like the work structure was not made for him. So, he decided to become a professor.
Ankit feels it was his mistake to concentrate less on the preparation for examinations and focus more on the financials. He feels he could have ended up in a better place had he focused more on government examinations, where he missed some good opportunities but he is content and constantly trying now to achieve what he could not achieve before.
Along with teaching, Ankit is also a proactive member of society and always tries to give something back to it. He is also tied up with several organisations and participates in social work. He always tries to spread awareness among people on how to control pollution and save the environment, which he thinks is an achievement for him. Apart from that, Ankit is also excellent in sports and has reached the state level tournaments in Badminton.
During the pandemic, Ankit tried to give his best in the online sessions he used to have with his students. He also participated in several webinars and seminars on different topics of his interest which he counts as a learning opportunity for him.
For the youngsters, Ankit advises them to always stay up to date with the current industry trends and work on future proof innovative projects. For someone who wants to become a teacher, Ankit advises them to have at least a Masters in the field and be excellent at communication.
Talking about leadership skills, Ankit says he has learned them gradually while progressing in his career while handling the management of a number of students.
If he could go back in time, Ankit would like to relive his college days and once again have all the fun he used to have with his college friends.
In his free time, Ankit likes to go around the city and enjoy the scenic views of Udaipur. Apart from that he loves to read books and sharpens his mind by playing games like carrom and chess.
