Ankit flunked in eighth grade and then dropped his studies. But he always capitalized on his creativity and voice skills and became a professional anchor and has been doing well for himself.

Ankit Chawda is a professional event anchor and a radio jockey at 90.8 FM Radio. He has been anchoring events, weddings, etc., for more than ten years now.

Ankit hails from Mandsaur, a city in Madhya Pradesh.

Recalling his childhood, Ankit says that he failed in eighth grade and didn’t continue his studies thereafter. He thinks that more than formal education, it’s one’s creativity that matters more. He always wanted to be a singer and would sing well but would struggle to remember the lyrics of songs. However, with his voice, he could entertain people and that’s why he decided to become an anchor instead.

When asked about his role models, Ankit says that he acknowledges the role Kunal Ajay, who works for a radio station, played in making him the person he is today. He says had he not met Ajay, he would not have been where he is today. Besides, he says, he has also learned a lot from his seniors at the radio station he works.

Ankit thinks that if you don’t commit mistakes then you don’t learn. He says people should accept their mistakes and learn from them. Talking about his mistakes, he says that initially, he lacked good English and Hindi communication skills, and owing to that he had to face backlash in the events he anchored. However, he always believed in himself and worked on his shortcomings.

Ankit advises parents to let their children pursue what they want to and never force them to take to particular careers.

To aspiring anchors, Ankit advises them to improve their pronunciation of words. He advises them to read books and newspapers to improve their language skills. Besides, he also advises them to learn to speak English well. Furthermore, he advises them to listen to other anchors and RJs, and also to watch relevant videos on YouTube to become good anchors.

In his spare time, Ankit likes to work on his anchoring skills. Besides, he also likes to read books and listen to songs.
