An Associate Professor, Dr. Anjali believes that teaching involves comprehending students’ needs and their perspectives and establishing a connection with them on a mental level.
Dr. Anjali Dhabhai is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur. She has been teaching at the institute for the past fourteen years.
Recalling her childhood, Dr. Anjali says she completed her schooling at Sophia Senior Secondary School, Kota. She adds that she always had a good command over English, having studied in a convent school.
Dr. Anjali attended a girls' college where she focused on studying Geography, Economics, and Literature. With a deep passion for Geography, she aspired to pursue her post-graduation in the field. However, since her college did not offer specialization in Geography, she would have needed to transfer to a co-ed college, which her parents were unwilling to allow. So, left with no choice, Dr. Anjali pursued her Master's Degree in English Literature. After marriage, Dr. Anjali pursued her B.Ed., M.Ed., and PhD.
Talking about her professional journey, Dr. Anjali says that she started her teaching journey with the institute as an Assistant Professor and gradually took over other responsibilities. Dr. Anjali, besides being an Associate Professor, is also in charge of student welfare, the student club, the women's cell, and the cultural club.
Describing her journey in teaching, Dr. Anjali says that she chose this profession to be able to maintain a balance between her personal and professional lives. Moreover, Dr. Anjali says that she belongs to a family of educators and academicians, which further inspired her to pursue her career in the field of education.
When asked about her role models, Dr. Anjali says she draws inspiration from her husband, who has always taught and guided her in life. Dr. Anjali adds that she gets her willpower, strength, and positivity from her husband. She finds inspiration in the quote "Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do."
Drawing a comparison between education and experience, Dr. Anjali says that while education makes you literate, experience gives you better understanding and helps you differentiate between right and wrong.
If Dr. Anjali could travel back in time through a time machine, she would go back to her college days and relive all the moments spent with her friends.
Dr. Anjali advises aspiring teachers to build a connection with the students and know that learning never ends in the field of education.
Besides teaching, Dr. Anjali feels passionate about music and watches inspirational videos of Gaur Gopal Das in her free time.
To conclude, Dr. Anjali says that one should learn from their mistakes and avoid repeating them. She ends by saying that "What is beautiful is not always good, but what is good is always beautiful."
