Dr. Anita Mohan is an Assistant Professor of Physics in IIT-BHU, Varanasi. She is currently working in the field of Engineering Materials and taking classes for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
Anita says that she comes from a lower-middle-class family. She had to face some struggles but does not regret anything. She has done her Post Graduation in Physics and M.Phil. from IIT-Roorkee.
She was also offered an opportunity to pursue Post Doctorate from Max Planck Institute in Germany but had to decline it as she had a small daughter to take care of. Anita has worked on many research projects in DST and CSIR and has had her research papers published in reputed journals.
Anita shares that she is a Poetess as well. Her poetry collection ‘मन के मनके’ (Pearls of Hearts) was published by Hind Yugm Publications. She has also pursued Indian classical Music from BHU and considers herself lucky to have got this opportunity.
Anita feels that we should value whatever we have in life and should learn to love ourselves.
Anita says that she never ignored her hobbies. She pursued Singing and Dancing. She loves Reading and also pursued Writing which she never thought she would. She loves Gardening and has a garden in her home. Her poems are available on the website of ‘Rekhta’ which she considers a great achievement.
Anita says that her Success Mantra in life is to never give up and never let negative thoughts cloud our minds. She feels that we should always be self-motivated so that we do not have to wait for external gratification.
Anita opines that to build a career in any field, one should get proper education and research in that field. Opportunities are available in every field and with hard work, we can grab them.
Anita advises doing some physical exercise like Yoga to keep oneself healthy, both physically and mentally. She says that we should relax and think in times of failure and not rush in decision-making.
