Aniket Gupta is a young changemaker who is on a mission to bring a practical approach to dry and stale bookish education. He is part of various national and international associations and contributes to change in society.

Aniket is an Engineering student at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, New Delhi specializing in Electronics and Communications Engineering. He is the Founder and President of the Indian Science and Technology Campaign, the Founder and CEO of The Tales of Humankind, and a young changemaker at Ashoka Organization for social entrepreneurs.

Aniket completed his schooling at the Delhi-based Lovely Public Senior Secondary School. Aniket has always been interested in crafts other than academics like art, painting, playing musical instruments, etc.

However, growing up, he realized the shortcomings of the Indian education system. The system lacks practicality and only focuses on marks and academic achievements. Therefore taking inspiration from his mentors and the well-known social entrepreneur, Mr. Amar Srivastava, Aniket designed a small initiative at the classroom level. He designed practicals and experiments in his class to test the concepts taught by the teachers. Seeing his innovative ideas and approach, his school and teachers supported him in creating the Indian Science and Technology Campaign, which is working with over ten thousand students from more than twenty schools.

He also formed ‘The Tales of Humankind’. Aniket’s inspiration behind 'The Tales of Humankind' is the realization that the world is not an ideal place and there are many global issues and problems prevailing in the world. He wants the students to be aware and sensitive to global issues and strive for change.

Aniket faced resistance from his parents while starting his social journey. Moreover,  convincing people to work with him was also a major obstacle he surpassed with his efforts. Due to his young age, it was a bit tough to convince people about his idea of change. But with time and support from his mentors, his idea became a reality.

Aniket’s role model is a fellow young achiever, Shradha Sharma - founder of ‘YourStory’. Her words of wisdom have motivated him to achieve his goals and never stop running for them.

Under his campaign, Aniket provides two services. First, he has created a toolkit for the teachers to use in classroom teaching. The toolkit has almost thirty experiments to help students understand the concepts. Second, he organizes workshops to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in students. He aims to create an entrepreneurial mindset and innovative thinking in future generations.

Aniket believes that education and experience both play an important role in shaping a person. The practical experience helps to upgrade our skills and understand other people.

The list of Aniket’s achievements is long and includes, being the founder and president of his campaign - Indian Science and Technology, the founder and CEO of The Tales of Humankind, being recognized as an Ashoka Young Changemaker, an SDG-4 Youth Ambassador of United Nations, a Global Youth Ambassador of Theirworld, and an Action Network Fellow of Youth Ki Awaaz.

Aniket loves to interact and talk to people of similar goals and interests. Furthermore, Aniket believes in the power of thoughts. He believes that thoughts can change us and our purpose in life.

The pandemic has taught him two things. The first is resilience. He believes that one needs to keep moving forward and unlocking new potentials and opportunities. The second is to keep learning and upgrading yourself. He motivates everyone to interact and talk to people from different walks of life. He strongly advises everyone to keep exploring as life is long, and it takes time to realize true passion.
