Aniesha Brahma is a writer and blogger. She has written thirteen books and blogging for the past thirteen years. She quit her full-time job and started freelancing a few years ago. Aneisha says she was six when she saw the dream of being a writer and got the full support of her family to accomplish her dreams.
Aneisha completed literature degrees in her bachelor’s and master’s and also did M.Phil. After her studies, she worked in a publishing house for three years. Then, she moved to Mumbai as a content writer for an ad agency. Aneisha says that the job opened up numerous possibilities for her.
Aneisha shares that she wrote her first book, The Secret Proposal, at twenty-one. It was easy for her to write when she was a student as compared to when she started working. But Aneisha found time for writing during the breaks or train travels. She also realised that reviews are not for the writers but by the readers for other readers.
Aneisha feels motivated by the quotes ‘Dream dangerously’ and ‘Inspiration doesn’t come to us every day, some days you have to go after it and find it.’
Aneisha shares that her journey started with writing and then she gradually started blogging. She advises aspiring writers to richly develop the background of each of their story characters. Moreover, she believes that discipline and giving timelines to yourself are some must-needed principles for success as a writer.
Aneisha shares that she hails from a family that values education over everything. Therefore, she was supported in her studies all through the years and her most memorable and enjoyable days have been her college days.
About her role models, Aneisha says that Ruskin Bond and his stories have inspired her to write stories in English that are based in India.
In her free time, Aneisha likes to travel and sit near water bodies in Kolkata or Mumbai. She feels relaxed and peaceful while doing that.
If Aneisha gets a Time Machine, she would want to be a self-published author and write more in her earlier times.
Sharing her COVID experience, Aneisha feels that the pandemic compelled people to start taking mental health as an important factor in a work environment. Moreover, she loves to work from home, which she got to do due to the pandemic and she is happy that her neighbours in Mumbai seemed much more caring and kind during the pandemic.
