Ananya Anurag Anand is a published author. Her core area of interest is Conscious Menstruation.
Ananya is originally from Kanpur. She completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Convent School in Kanpur. She did her B.Sc. in Molecular Biology from Dehradun. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Bangalore. Besides, she is a published author and has authored five books.
Ananya shares that conscious menstruation is a new concept in India and she is on her way to educating women about how they can connect menstruation to spirituality and thus unlock the powers that lie within them. Besides, she says that not only for women but it’s also very important for men to understand conscious menstruation to be able to understand what a woman goes through when she is on her periods.
Ananya says that during her bachelors, besides studies, she also got exposed to a lot of extra-curricular activities which made her realize that creative writing is her forte and thus she took to writing.
Talking about her hardships, Ananya says that her family always supported her to write. But some of her friends tried to demoralize her. Besides, finding the right publisher for her books and then promoting her books also came as challenges to her.
To aspiring writers, Ananya advises them to choose a publisher for their books wisely. Besides, she advises them to learn to accept the opinions and feedback of others constructively. Further, she advises them to have clarity as to why they want to become a writer.
Talking about her achievements, Ananya says that she got an award from Pacific Foundation in Kanpur for her first book entitled “Freedom from Judgment”. Besides, she was a gold medalist in her bachelors.
Ananya thinks that women don’t really need empowerment. What they really need is freedom from judgment and from adhering to standards set for them by society.
Her Success Mantra is to be persistent and patient in her work to become successful in life.
In future, Ananya aspires to pursue a P.hD. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
Ananya advises people that instead of focusing on what people think about them they should focus on themselves and what really matters to them.
Talking about her role models, Ananya says that she considers Lord Ganesha as her role model.
In her spare time, Ananya likes to read good books and Hindi poetry.
To people, her message is to keep working despite challenges and live their lives with a purpose.
