Amita Sharma is a teacher in Jakarta, Indonesia. She hails from Punjab.
Amita did her MPhil in Chandigarh and has been teaching in Indonesia for the past twenty years.
Amita says her life has been a beautiful journey with kids. As an educator, she has spent over twenty years with kids. She has taught special kids, mentally challenged ones, and cancer patients.
Amita believes life is a challenge, and one has to accept it. Even after crossing the age of 50, she welcomes all these challenges.
Talking about her struggles, Amita says there were many difficult times in life, like wearing the Indonesian national costume that weighed around 10 kg, which she had to carry for so long through her performances.
Talking about her achievements, Amita says she feels very proud to have become Mrs. India Indonesia and represent India and Indonesia as a Global Empowered Woman. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to Indonesia, they all felt really proud. She exchanged the cultural heritage of both countries. She also danced poco-poco in Jakarta with 65,000 other people, setting a global record.
Amita believes that whatever you do, you should do it wholeheartedly. Don’t look for the result of your work. Just do it for your happiness.
