Amita Dwivedi is an Astrologer and Founder of Astro Consultant and Services in Udaipur.

Amita was born and brought up in Udaipur where she did her schooling at Guru Nanak Public School. Before coming into the field of astrology, she worked as a Research Assistant at PI Industries. She says that her maternal grandfather taught her astrology, and Amita decided to deal in the field scientifically and left her private job for the same.

Amita says that Astrology is a Vedic Science and is based on mathematical calculations. Also, she says that different regions have different astrological methods, but the basics of astrology remain the same. Talking about a myth, Amita says that people often say that if everything is already written, why go after astrological predictions? Amita asserts that astrological predictions are just guidance and should not be taken as superstition. She says that we should always focus on finding solutions and not on problems.

Talking about her childhood, Amita says that her maternal grandfather started teaching her ‘Panchang’ when she was in the seventh grade. Slowly, she started understanding the basics of Kundali reading and became interested in the field. Though she did her M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry and worked as a research assistant, her heart lay in the field of astrology.

Sharing more about her life journey, Amita says that she studied in a Hindi-medium school but had to transition to an English mode of study in her 11th standard, which was a tough thing for her to do. However, she says that her parents' support helped her sail through those tough days as well.

When asked about her role models, Amita says that her parents are her inspiration, especially her mother. She says that her mother came from a very small village, studied till the eighth grade after facing many struggles, but managed to get a good education for her kids. She says that whenever she is stuck in some situation, she looks up to her mother for advice. Amita learned from her mother that we should all learn lessons from our own struggles.

Sharing about her struggles, Amita says that her childhood was quite pleasant, but she had to go through normal struggles related to studies and general life. She says that there came a critical time in her life when her father supported her to the core, after which she restarted her education with the support of her family. Amita says that she started appearing for competitive examinations and feels that somehow destiny was guiding her to the path of astrology, as she used to fail those examinations by just a mark or two.

Advising the aspirants to the field, Amita says that nothing is impossible in life if we have an interest in the field we are working in. She feels that basic knowledge of astrology can be gathered online, but in-depth knowledge can only come through practice.

Amita says that the most important thing in life is to listen to our own selves, never let the inner hope die, and never quit. She feels that it is always better to start from zero. Amita also feels that we should give time to our health and exercise on a daily basis to remain physically fit.
