A passionate theatre artist, Amit, opines that we only live once, and in a play or drama, characters are versatile, allowing one to live different lives.

Amit Vyas works in the sales and marketing department of different companies and has had a zeal for theatrics since childhood.

Amit is a sales and marketing professional with a passion for art and culture, particularly theatre. He used to participate in plays and dramas at school and also anchor college events. His college friends inspired him to choose theatre as a profession, and he has been associated with theatre since then. When he was working his day job, he had to decide between his passion and his career. That is when he decided on his enthusiasm for his theatre group.

Life was not always easy for Amit. When talking about his struggles, he always had a hard time convincing his family to approve of his passion for art and culture. Adding on to that, society expected that one should work, marry, and live a regular life. Society always despised anything that was out of the ordinary. But Amit's resiliency always paved the way for him to practice his art.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, all the plays were cancelled. The people cancelled all theatre reservations as a lockdown was declared. During the pandemic, there was no practice or rehearsal for the plays. The job market was also going through a time when everybody was getting laid off, which steadily increased financial problems for Amit.

Talking about his childhood, Amit says that it was not so pleasant as he lost his father at the age of seven. Till his 10th grade, his school was such that it mostly emphasized the study part. His heart always knew there was an artist inside him, but he did not have the right guidance to follow his inner light. Later, in the 11th grade, he took admission to a different school and actively participated in many events. Amit was also approached to anchor an event at his school.

Amit honed his artistic abilities during his undergraduate years. College life also had lots of theatrical opportunities in store for him. Anchoring led him towards theatrics. One day, his friend requested that Amit drop him off at a theatrical workshop and afterwards urged that he stay and attend the production instead of returning to pick him up. This was the first time that Amit recognized that he enjoyed theatre and drama too. Following that workshop, he performed in a number of plays in Udaipur.

Shivraj Sonwal, his mentor, recognized his ability and invited him to a play rehearsal. One thing led to another, and Amit got many opportunities to work in roles and plays. One of the most memorable characters he recalls was Capt. Vikas Roy in the play 'Court Martial.'

Advising budding theatre aspirants, Amit advises them to maintain balance and pursue their passion despite any number of struggles they face. He personally believes that those who pursue theatre are very disciplined, and theatre helps in overall personality development. One can learn multiple skills like communication, teamwork, acting, and many others in a single shot by performing in plays. He adds that, irrespective of age or gender, everyone should practice theatre at some point in their lives.

When asked about his role model, Amit says that he considers Amitabh Bachchan to be one. He admires Mr. Bachchan for never being arrogant, despite having plenty of ups and downs in his acting career, and for being determined to face his challenges head-on. He never gave up and continues to be modest to this day.

Amit recalls that one of the best roles in his acting career till now was that of Court Martial. He used to practice for 6 hours daily, and it was a very tiresome yet learning experience for him.

Amit’s success mantra is "The race is not over till you do not win the race." He further explains that one should constantly keep trying and put up their best effort until they reach their goals.
